Citizens arrest.  I thought he threw an IED at me, and I merely pinned him gently under the vehicle until the bomb squad could arrive, at great personal risk to my own life.

If it is a stand-your-ground state and they have vehicular homicide laws which pretty much say the car/truck is a weapon,  could you argue that your weapon of choice was a vehicle instead of a gun or knife?

No one says standing your ground is to be done with a gun only right?  Or maybe it does,  hell if I know,  but if not,  then why can't that weapon be a car?  Or a rocket,  or a bat, or frick'en lasers from an orbiting satellite.

Why should the government get to tell me what I can and can't use to stand my ground as long as it's legal to own you commie bastards!!

So it's "okay" to throw stuff at 4000lb vehicles and just not expect ANYTHING bad to happen?

Would it be okay if it was a brick? Where is the line?

I don't feel too sorry for the kid who got pinned against the SUV - they pretty much deserved it.  5 dollars says they will whine and cry and biatch and sue *everyone* at the scene just so they can get an easy payday.  For the people who start shiat in this manner every day, all over the world.   I really have no problem when someone snaps and takes them out, the world slowly becomes a better place when the idiots are weeded out due to their own stupidity.

Yup -- I'm a piece of shiat that's smart enough not to throw objects at things that could kill me. Sucks to be me huh?

Think the asshole kid learned his lesson? Say he'd "gotten away" with it, what lesson did he learn? Next he's throwing bricks, and god knows what after that.

Who started it -- that's the question I like to ask in any situation.  It seems the idea of mutual respect and keeping your shiat to yourself is totally gone these days.  Kids are raised and shown over and over its "okay" to do whatever you want, and to never expect any bad consequences to happen. Oh poor little kid, he was harassing motorists with projectiles, and now people like you want to shower the kid with money and sympathy.  If I had an array of magical powers it would be fun to see how you react if I come to your home or place of business and start throwing things at you.

you start shiat --- you get shiat. That's the way the world (should) work.

Let's get you some perspective. I was once driving a convertible at night. Something hit me in the head. When I looked in my mirror I saw a couple of kids duck behind some bushes and realized they had thrown something small at me (a pebble maybe). Instead of running over them, I turned around and watched them head into a house. I simply knocked on the door and informed the adult what had happened. From the yelling that followed I knew this problem had been solved. Perhaps this girl might learn that she should have done something similar instead of trying to kill someone.

All of this will be lost on you as you are either a sad troll or a piece of shiat as stated earlier.

Accelerus, what if a man had been driving the vehicle, and a young girl had thrown the bottle?  would that change your opinion?

kkinnison: A few days ago I was walking in the crosswalk from the parking lot to a store and was almost hit by a car. Then the driver confronted me in the store and was mad at me and asked me why I hit his car.

Didn't you know that crosswalks are designated zones for playing Hit-n-Run Bingo?

Two years ago, my coworkers and I were returning to work from lunch at a cafe across the street. We started to cross the street at the crosswalk, WITH the "WALK" signal. Some woman in an SUV ignored the red light she had, and tried to drive around us to make her right turn. My coworker had to jump back out of the way, to avoid getting hit, and he kicked her rear panel as she drove past.

She immediately pulled over, got out, and started threatening him with bodily harm for damaging her car. Never mind she had just violated no less than 3 separate traffic laws (running a red light, making a turn from the shoulder, failure to yield), and had nearly run him over in the process.

Then again, in my experience with pickup truck and SUV drivers, nearly ALL of them turn into psychotic assholes the moment they touch the steering wheel.

I was once run off the road by a guy in a black pickup truck, who was speeding the wrong way down a one-way, one-lane street. I ended up smashing into the back of a parked car trying to avoid a head-on collision with him. I am battered and bruised all over my body, I am bleeding profusely from a large gash down my face, my bike is totaled, and this asshole is screaming at me about the giant scratch to his brand new  truck caused by my bike when it flipped. He then tried to blame ME for the accident, until it was pointed out that HE was the one going the wrong way.

Just last week, I was driving down PA Rt 322, when a black SUV starts tailgating me, despite the line of traffic ahead of me. After about 30 seconds, he gets pissed off enough to try to pass the line of cars by using the opposing lane (no passing zone), and forces a driver in the opposing lane off the road in the process.

These are just a handful of the dozens (if not hundreds) of incidents I've personally witnessed.

that and those dark tinted windows that are always rolled up.  you have to wonder if these people are fit to live on this planet.  personally i would love
to pull them out of their comfy SUVs, and beat them right there in the street.

Had something similar in my town recently, 'cept it was a guy in an SUV that threw a water bottle and then mowed down some cops.

One of my coworkers read this story yesterday. She was angry that the article that she read called the 7th grader a child. "First of all, that ain't no child, he is almost as old as the driver! And second he shouldn't have thrown that bottle!"
Well, in that case, the girl was totally in her right to try to kill a kid.
I work with some very stupid people.

FTFA:  "As for the driver, California Highway Patrol officers detained her at the scene while they determine if the collision was, indeed, intentional and what charges, if any, she could face."

You mean to say that she's still detained there?  It says "...while they determine," as if the determination is still being made, and that she's being detained at the scene until they do.  Just lousy writing.  And editing.  And that's the Los Angeles Farking Times.
