thank you Rush Limbaugh for making shiat up.

totally sounds reasonable though, i mean, it answers the tough questions Conservatives are asking about racists.

I love how republicans claim over and over tht they aren't racist. Yet when something like this happens their first instinct is to defend the racist. He was set up, democrats did this to him because he's a democrat and didn't give Obama enough money(he's actually a registered republican). I mean if you don't want to be accused of racism try not to keep defending racists.

I'm convinced that he's got some sort of sound-enhancement device on his mike. Nobody could keep that level of inane rage going without just keeling over. Especially not a drug-dependent fatty.

it's almost like Rush is the real victim in all of this mess

If I could make what Rush makes for spewing the same hateful, reality-free derp, I would.

For one year.

At the end of that year, I would inform all of my fans that I've been using their stupidity to get obscenely rich, that they are fools, and if they get the opportunity they should kill themselves.

Everyone wanting to defend Sterling should do it by hiding behind his lawyer's "the veracity of the recorded tape has not been established" statement. The second you try to say that it's really a minor transgression to tell your girlfriend not to bring Magic Johnson to a Clippers game because he's black you've lost the argument.

"OMG, but the girlfriend was a gold digger!" "OMG, the media is too race-obsessed!" "OMG, why aren't we discussing this behavior of a black person and instead focusing on this?!" None of these things actually change his behavior to not be terrible anymore.

It's just like that time he scored a sweet gig as an NFL analyst for ESPN, only to have Obama trick him into making racist comments and getting him fired.

There's actually a long history of people (mostly Obama) maneuvering Limbaugh into saying astonishingly racist things.  From his classic "take the bone out of your nose" right up to "all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson", there is no depth to which liberals won't sink when it comes to tricking Limbaugh into speaking his mind.

Ok, did anybody seriously expect any other response from Rush? He is nothing if not predictable. And a big fat tub of poo and a waste of oxygen.

If the guy is a registered Republican, then he definitely didn't give Obama enough money. However, Messrs. Limbaugh et al have not thought their cunning plan through. If Sterling is indeed a Democrat, then the speed with which progressives turned on him merely underscores that the Democrats are indeed the party of accountability--the properly hypocritical (i.e., Republican) response would be to support Sterling and discount the attacks against him. This is a lose-lose issue for the right wing. Either Sterling's a conservative, in which case they should try to get this embarrassment behind them as quickly as possible, or he's a liberal, in which case the Democrats acted laudably by rejecting him. The proper response from the right wing attack brigade in this case would be to shut up about this completely... but then, that's what they should be doing anyway about everything.

Surely Rush is the real racist for pointing out Obama's racism there though? (That's how it works right?)

This. Would it kill them to just say "Yeah, that was out of bounds" once in a while? I guess that'd be a victory for PC or something though.

I remember a Farkette relating about being trapped in a car with her Limbaugh lovin' Dad, and decided to bite her tongue and actually listen to a whole show.  Her dad nodded along, made approving noises the whole time, smiled at the right times, etc. for hours.

Afterwards, she cautiously asked her Dad about a specific segment of the show.  Her dad froze, and just mumbled some generic anti-Obama statement, despite the fact that the segment has nothing to do with Obama.  She restated the question, and got the same response.  She tried this about another segment, same response.  She eventually realized he did not retain even the vaguest details of the show.

She described it like showing someone an "an auditory Rorschach Blot" where you're not sure what you're hearing, but you know OBAMA BAD is in there somewhere.

I think this is a bit like the people who claim no Muslims condemned 9/11, because they actively and passively avoid that information.  At least 25% of republicans are genuinely not racist and don't like racism, if not more.

But that doesn't keep the results of republican policies from being racist, so... I'm not sure I care to defend those people that much.

Because as long as he says something racist, sexist or bigoted every segment his core audience won't abandon him. Just think of it like entertaining a bunch of 12 year old boys. As long as you have some karate, a set of titties and some explosions, you can hold their attention for hours.
