Yet...

Antoine currently holds seven Canadian records. His family says he's planning on going to the world's largest Rubik's Cube competition in New Jersey this July.

Sometime this July, while many here are wasting time on Fark, he'll be at the World's Largest Rubik's Cube competition!  IN NEW JERSEY!  He might even get to meet Chris Christie!

Mock him if you will, but with those fingers, if he ever gets to touch a woman's happy bits, he will be considered a god.

Yeah, sorry, without the qualifier no one is beating my 10th grade record in the bathroom of a Stuckie's after the roller-waitresses skirt got Marilyn Monroe'd by a strong wind.

This kid obviously didn't need to feed the cable through the VCR and adjust the tracking just to get semi scrambled soft porn then get his business done before mom came back down into the basement.

If you can remember them.

My one-handed record is ~17min, but I was distracted by talking to people. Also, it's really tough to work that thing one-handed (pun oh-so-very-much intended).

// my two-handed record is 2:30ish
// we now return you to the sound of one thread fapping

Rubik's cube turned 40 last week. It's one of the greatest inventions that came from Hungary, after the hologram and the ballpoint pen.

I'm sure his Rubik's Cube was lubed for speed.

... and presumably many of the very long list of things that John von Neumann invented.

Did anyone see the Youtube video of the guy who juggled two balls and a Rubik's Cube? Each time he caught the Cube with his left hand was a step towards solving it before he tossed it up in the air to his other hand. That guy had to be an android. (I'm too lazy to post the link.)

It's just a simple algorithm. You move the cube in the same pattern every single time changing one thing to get the square you want, and repeat until the puzzle is done. Once you've memorized the sequence, it's the exact same puzzle every time no matter what it looks like.

i suppose it's good metaphor for adult life in it's way, but anyone who can't solve a Rubik's cube probably shouldn't operate any machinery more complicated than a rubber coated baby spoon.

Came to say this.  Glad to see someone's got it covered.

Carry on.

No, it's not quite that simple. The algorithm I learned required you to solve on face, using the fastest method you can come up with, then solve other blocks in sequence using a sets of moves to shift things around while not destroying what you've solved so far.

I don't think I could do it right now without a refresher. I think my best time was something like 25 seconds.

/yes, I was a virgin at the time and remained so for some time after that
