Ok what if it's Hillary vs Ditka, but Ditka is only 12 inches tall?

Is this where the "your blog sucks" meme gets applied?

2014-04-28 07:55:41 AM
I dunno, this is the top story on Politico

Wall Street donors and lawyers are thinking basically the same thing.

2014-04-28 07:55:59 AM
There's a place for liberal derp. It's called Tumblr.

Depends on who Michael Jordan votes for.

Oh, please. Left-wing derp abounds. It's just never as funny as right -wing drool. Thank Heysus all us farkers are so sane and chill and like dat, right?

I thought for sure this was going to link back to a Fark Politics thread. It would have been a better example.

Daily Kos?  Low-hanging fruit.

/Done in two, get the lights

At least it's fairly well written deep. It's definitely clear and well thought out.

I agree, there is tons of left-wing derp content, take PETA for example.
Anyways, I honestly didn't think this article qualified as derp. Sure its speculative and pointless, but saying "I think my candidate is the best", isn't derp unless you tell outright bold lies about your opponent.

2014-04-28 08:04:17 AM
How is this derp? The opinion stated in the article may or may not be wrong, but wrongness is not derp.

The right-wing completely owns derp at the moment.

Lol. Yes. Because any current Republican like Jeb Bush could be considered moderate.

Hint: he's not. He's probably a Neocon or neoliberal that is just interested in war and oil, just like his brother.

2014-04-28 08:08:35 AM
Hillary Clinton is what we used to call a "Republican".  She was sitting on the board of WalMart long before she ever got to the White House.  And she loves deregulation.

I'd vote for Jeb before I'd vote for her on these grounds alone.

2014-04-28 08:09:50 AM
Meh. It's poorly written and needs severe editing, but it doesn't have a completely looney tunes premise which is the essence of derp.

2014-04-28 08:11:55 AM
Isn't Clinton-Warren a quite likely ticket? I suspect Warren would *far* prefer the VP role, given that allows you to still have a fiery opinion.

2014-04-28 08:12:22 AM
This isn't derp, this is a fanfic

2014-04-28 08:12:31 AM
Who the he'll ever claimed liefties can't be derpy?

No one, ever, that's who.

2014-04-28 08:14:52 AM
Subby really nailed that strawman.

2014-04-28 08:18:38 AM
Of course left-wing derp can exist, just look at some of the things Mike Malloy's said.

I'll argue that most of us lefties aren't avid derp consumers. If we were, Mike Malloy would be a Really Big farking Deal.

2014-04-28 08:19:08 AM
Warren has said categorically that she won't run. People are acting as if that means nothing, but is there really a precedent for candidates doing a 180 after a statement like that?

(And I'm referring only to a Presidential run -- I know people deny that they'd settle for VP or cabinet positions all the time before relenting, but that's different.)

Jesus, look at that poll.  15 options, and they aren't even all mutually exclusive of each other.

Who ever said liberals don't derp?

What we've said, is that with one or two exceptions, such liberal derpers aren't held up as great thinkers, icons of the progressive movement, or elected to positions of power.  Rachel Maddow is never going to go and try to track down the anonymous blogger who wrote this piece and spent a week building him up as a hero on his show until she finally figures out that he's crazy.

2014-04-28 08:33:30 AM
Is subby trying to make the point that left-wing derp sounds rational and reasonable in comparison to right-wing derp?

2014-04-28 08:35:31 AM
While I would hardly characterize that as "derp," there is no question but that the author is completely wrong. Anyone who thinks that the way to win elections is to appeal to the fringe elements of the party while leaving the center and the independents to the opposition is overly ideological and deluded. Let's leave that to the Republicans, shall we?

2014-04-28 08:38:40 AM
Liebrals derp. Liebral derpers, however, aren't celebrated and elected to office. That's the difference.

2014-04-28 08:39:42 AM

I can't believe that even a Republican would vote for Jeb in the primaries. Of course they'll vote for him if he gets the nomination but they didn't even invite his brother to the Republican convention for Chrissakes.

2014-04-28 08:41:23 AM
Really? Your self-esteem has gotten so low that you feel better about yourself if any Democrat, even an anonymous one on Kos, says something dumb?

You guys really are pathetic.

2014-04-28 08:41:52 AM
Oh, sure, when Sarah Palin compares waterboarding to baptism, you libtards jump all over it and call it shiat-eatingly stupid derp, but when a liberal writes "This is who I think should run for President and VP", you call it "a poorly written and questionable opinion piece".

I see how it is.

Warren's views are now considered "fringe?"
Wow, that's sad.

2014-04-28 08:44:09 AM
So the plan is for some sort of liberal mouthpiece fake news channel to track down this blogger, support him for a week then abandon him when he turns out to be a giant racist?

Because that's what conservatives seem to do with their derp, rather than, you know, ignore them because it's only a blog post.

IIRC Warren is extremely well-liked outside of hardcore Republican - Teabagger "Fauxcahontas" types who'd never vote for her anyway.

2014-04-28 08:47:40 AM
Poor conclusion but at least there are links where the author attempts to provide evidence.

This attempt to provide evidence places this head and shoulders above most right wing derp.

/just as stupid to argue that dems aren't winning elections because they aren't liberal enough as the GOP engaging in RINO purges

2014-04-28 08:49:01 AM
That didn't seem like derp to me, but a pretty well-argued and sourced opinion piece which I happen to disagree with.

Some of the comments, however, are pure derp.

The left is full of derp. The difference is everyone ignores those people.

No one listens to the old guy wearing tie-die who thinks meat is murder and we should bulldoze Wall St and put in a food coop/ nudist colony.

I agree with every word of this alleged "derp", because I'm a liberal and I'm 105% on-board with everything any person who casts him- or herself as a liberal says.

We're all like that, and that's why we present such a united front on every conceivable issue. It's just how we roll.

This reminds of the Tea-baggers who insist on someone too far to the right to win a general election.

Whoever said left-wingers don't derp? The left just doesn't put the derpers in charge.

Riche: Warren's views are now considered "fringe?"

Her fervor for reigning in Wall Street isn't shared by (m)any of her own party colleagues.  She resonates with voters, but I'm skeptical that she'd be able to get any meaningful financial/corporate law reform passed.

The correct term is "hivemind".
