I can't decide which pandering pop song is worse: Black or White or perhaps Ebony & Ivory?

They do but MLB has cut back on the time allowed for them.

Yes. The only one I remember for sure is when I went to a Brewers-Pirates game back in 2000 in the old Three Rivers Stadium Jason Kendall went up to bat to the then-WWF superstar Billy Gunn or whoever's theme "Oh...you didn't know? Call somebody."

Been to other games since then, heard different themes. Can't remember them.

and when sterling sells, he will have to sell at a 'racist discount'.  when you are an owner being forced to sell the team because your employees (not just your players, but your whole staff) and your fans have turned against you, you don't get full market value for the team.  you have to sell for less.  and the ironic part is that magic johnson could be the buyer.

He won't sell to Magic. That would mean he's taking money from a black man when Sterling wants black people to earn money from him. Haven't you heard the tapes?

/The NBA failed in letting this racist stay in ownership for so long

Indeed they do. One of my life's great unanswered questions is why Ryan Ludwick, during his time with the Cardinals, selected the Beastie Boys' "Brass Monkey" as his. (As an aside, I've always wanted to ask a ballplayer specifics about walk up music but haven't had the chance.)

David Freese had "Freeze Frame" as his for a bit.

Yadi usually has Spanish hip hop. Holliday likes schlocky country; iirc so does Wainwright.

My high school changed our homecoming halftime music played by the marching band. One of their selections was Three Dog Night's Black and White, and there was a mixed couple in the court. They completely missed the point of that song by leaving it out.

/what can I say, it was the 70s

God, I remember that shiatty song. I even remember the stupid video. If Jackson would have offed himself after Thriller he would have been remembered so fondly.

I doubt these futile gestures mean much to Sterling. He seems to care about money and not much else. Hell the man settled his last discrimination suit for $2mil and still walks around in his private life hating on the blacks.

I like how people are getting outraged because someone said something in the privacy of their own home but not about the person extorting him.

Context of that person's status, role in society is important, the girlfriend isn't.

/also there are reports that he asked her to record him because he was "forgetting too many important things"

It's so sad when an all-around terrible person gets hurt in an utterly predictable way based on his actions and the people he chooses to associate with.

I guess a basketball franchise suing the owner's girlfriend for embezzlement is a less interesting story than old white guy might be a racist.

Let's not go overboard.  I think 2/3 of the team's value would be appropriate.

i don't go a lot of games so i can't really think of any "good" or even memorable walk up tunes NO WAIT!  eric byrnes (memorably bought out by the Snakes circa 2010:  "uh, how about you take your, uhhh, 11.5MEEEELION owed and just kinda, go away?) used The Outfield's "I Don't Wanna Lose Your Love Tonight".  Invariably, "Josie's on a vacation far away Come around and talk it over ..." = inning ending DP.

I don't even think he told his wife that, she just filled suit claiming she embezzled it by tricking him and also claiming that under community property laws the money was equally hers and he shouldn't have been giving her anything without her input.
