Great, another thread about an article with no new information where we can speculate endlessly and complain about lens flare.

And yet nobody is cringing at the possibility of having a CGI Sir Alec Guinness and/or a very real Hayden Christensen also being included in these sequels.  Force Ghosts just can't disappear, especially now that the Expanded Universe as we knew it has been put into an alternate reality.

Be cynical all you want, it's going to be fun to see those three in those roles again.

Can it really be a follow up if it hasn't happened?

The Expanded Universe sucked ass. Get over it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...if Abrams is smart, he'll realize that "Star Wars" worked because of Han Solo, not because of Luke Skywalker and the Jedi. Jedi are boring-as-fark. Give us new movies that focus on a Han Solo-ish character..

I heard C-3PO  is interested in meeting Big Ben.

At least Hamill's looking a lot less rough in that pic than usual.

Confabulat: Be cynical all you want, it's going to be fun to see those three in those roles again.

True.

OK, Dark Side Luke, are you into that?  It could happen. At one point, Lawrence Kasdan suggested that Luke put on Vader's mask* and turn to the dark side at the end of Return of the Jedi and then trick the Emperor into thinking that he was going to use it on the rebel fleet, but instead turns the station's power on the imperial home world of Had Abbadon according to the book "Star Wars The Annotated Screenplays."

An early idea, but since Kasdan is writing again for Star Wars, I wonder if it won't come up, or part of it.

Frankly I'd rather they not do any dark side Luke whether from EU or Kasdan as it would cheapen ROTJ's conclusion.

FTFY

In fact, I can say with absolute certainty that almost all of the EU was better than Episode I.

Syphilis is better than Episode 1. A massive asteroid strike obliterating the entire human race is only slightly worse than Episode 2.

What, in the movies specifically, says they can't? I am aware of the EU's way of handling it and all. Flushing that, why can't Abrams and Co™ make up what they want about it?

I would find it hysterical if they were just getting together to troll people and fuel their speculation, with no actual connection to the film at this point.

I'm on board with this like Han getting on board the Falcon once he realized 'this is no cave': immediately and pushing women and pets aside as i go.

the Jedi were cool in concept through 'Empire' but Luke became a dud once he showed up in the black robes in 'Jedi'. Jedi may not crave adventure, but kids and movie-going audiences sure do.

None of them are over it. They are just all willing to give ANYONE BESIDES GEORGE LUCAS a crack at it.

So nerd rage is on hold till Episode 7 really.

He now looks like he can manage playing an aged, wiser and somewhat world-weary Luke Skywalker. Before, he looked like he could play a Hutt. (Which, with the Joker's voice, could have been kind of neat.)

/still think they screwed the pooch dumping all of Zahn's writing into the void

In a twisted way I hope Episode VII is awful.  This far away from Episode I I was already excited.  I know I'll see it, and I know I'll see it opening day, but the excitement isn't there for me (yet).
