santadog: Cerebral Ballsy: santadog: parkthebus: Hunt them. Let the biologists set a safe harvest quota and manage them with licenses.

How about trying to secure your garbage and not leave shiat out that attracts bears before you go directly to killing them?
Or is it too much to ask to take care of your garbage?

/lived in the mountains around plenty of bears
//seriously, just don't leave your shiat out.

How about we stop developing in land in the Wekuva basin where all the bears hang out?

I thought I got away from this when I moved here from South Florida. You know, where New Yorkers buy homes in the swamp and then complain about the gators?

Well, that would pretty much mean just about everywhere, as bears were everywhere in the US before we killed most of them off.  Same goes for Elk, deer, rattlesnakes, Bison, etc.. so yeah, since that idea won't work, try securing your crap.

Some idiot down the road from me built his house in the swamp.  In it.  Ohio swamp.  The house is for sale.  I'm guessing it won't be an easy sell.   Family knows the guy who put in his driveway, and it took several attempts. I'm told the property is acting like a sinkhole.  lol

"When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up. And that's what you're going to get, Lad, the strongest castle in all of England."

Well we really don't have bears everywhere in Florida, they pretty much stick to a blob in the middle of the state in these parts. The are where the bear attacks occurred is just to the west of where the now infamous Sanford, Florida is. There is a lot of new construction there on land that is known for beautiful rivers and preserves, lush with vegetation and animals. It's also an area very prone to sinkholes, so expect more of those in the news, too.

The area mentioned really should be protected land. I understand people want to spread out rather than build upwards, but Florida is a state that is constantly cutting away at its natural areas.

Also, the castle/swamp bit reminds me of Florida every time.
