Currently in first place, both Rays and Sox have obvious flaws, and the O's and Jays are a joke again. Yeah. The Yanks are totally not making the playoffs.

It makes me sad thinking about how the Ms could've used all that money building a winning team than hiring a "star" to draw "crowds"

WTF Indeed: Currently in first place

So are MIL and SFG, so I wouldn't say that technically strengthens the argument. With the way the AL East beats up on each other as every year, whoever is healthiest betwen TB, NYY, BOS and BAL will win.

The Yankees are making the playoffs because no team in the history of anything ever has blown a 2 game lead on their division with just 85% of their season remaining. Book it.

It makes me sad thinking about how Ms fans believe the Ms are capable of building a winning team in the first place.  They haven't done that in a decade.

"They've been pretty nice," Cano said on Friday in the Mariners' dugout at Safeco Field before a 6-5 win over the Rangers -- complete with a two-run double from Cano -- improved his new team's record to 9-13 after a 5-2 start.

Uh...

Fun fact: I just checked the standings, and at the moment every AL East team has a negative run differential.

The win improved the record to 9-13. They had a 5-2 start. It makes sense as long as you speak English.

This is a big part of the reason the game was more fun when everyone was using steroids in an obvious manner.

The article is technically correct, the best kind of correct. It's gonna be another long season in Seattle. Well, long until August when everyone gives up on the M's and starts thinking about football again.

I'm thinking about football already.  The worse the M's are, the more interesting the draft is.

And things aren't going to improve until we get rid of Jack Z.  And even when he's gone, it will take a while to dig out of the hole we're in.

Yeah. Removing the expectation of winning would make it less stressful.

They went on a scorching 8 or 9 game losing streak right after that start. Kinda like the groundhog seeing his shadow.

When your team isn't even going to make .500% win percentage by the end of the year or a chance at the playoffs - you damn straight there is no stress.

Sounds like Cano doesn't mind losing, I guess the money helps ease the sting a bit.
