(SeattlePI)   Baby safe after crawling across busy Utah street. Though to be fair, a "busy" street in Utah means three whole cars per hour have passed through   (seattlepi.com) divider line 24

Dammit.
I tried looking for a pic of that movie where the three graduating teenagers sit in the middle of the road and drink, getting up every half hour for a car.
Couldn't remember the name.

At least it wasn't a 1930s construction site and  a scrawny seaman.

To be fair, streets in Utah are pretty wide, wide enough to turn around a wagon team "without swearing."

Science: 25% of the traffic on Utah streets are babies.

Usually the parents just straight up leave the kid in the car seat on the roof of the car, or back over them in the driveway. These are the GOOD parents.

So the mother laid down to take a rest and her seven-year-old took the baby out of the crib and the baby proceeded to try to crawl across a road.  I have a word for this -- unlikely.  Also noticed that Child Protective Services is on the case with the possibility that the mom will finally confess she laid down because she was tired from cooking all that meth.

Subby's never been on I-15 in the Salt Lake corridor.

NASCAR Qualifying has been slower

Aaaand that would be my town of residence...  The kid was found on 200 South, which is very wide with four lanes of traffic, a center left-turn lane, and wide shoulders.  The speed limit where the kid was found is 40MPH.

Spotting the little adventurer wasn't some amazing feat, but the fact he was out for a crawl at all was remarkable.

200 South is only busy in comparison to other BC streets.  Side-streets in Salt Lake see more traffic.

Years from now, when BC gets the legit USU campus at the old Intermountain School/Kmart land chunk, instead of the diminutive "Extension" campus in the old Fred Meyer strip, traffic will be a lot more aggressive.

A Mormon Assault Vehicle with a "Baby On Board" sign provokes a "No farking shiat." from me every time.

Sisters are kind of evil. Mine took and forced me to sit and sell newspapers in her place when I was 6 and she 13. She went off to play and when she finally made it back to check on me I wasn't to be found. Apparently she forgot that a 6 year old doesn't know what to do with the change from selling papers other than buy ice cream.

I got an ass-beating from her for that but she learned a valuable lesson; minions are ultimately the mastermind's responsibility.

There may not be many of them, but they ARE Utah drivers. One shouldn't downplay the danger here.

/Also, the massive sprawl around Salt Lake City actually is pretty dang busy,so it's not all empty streets in Utah.

Don't rain on their parade, they're having fun talking about something they have no idea about. It's a Fark tradition.
