Spielberg's going to try making fun movies again? Eh, he'll find a way to shoehorn a Nazi or two in there somewhere.

I loved that book as a child.  Certainly my favourite of Dahl's books

Jorn the Younger: I loved that book as a child.  Certainly my favourite of Dahl's books

Now that I think about it, yeah, that was his best book, or at least the book I liked the most. Witches was also really good.

One day they will start making Bruce Coville books into movies and my inner child will be very happy.

I must be crazy. I've always been a big Dahl fan but I don't remember this. Hmm.

His adult stuff is even more obscure.

Some very vivid horror stories in this one.

Actually I think I read Kiss Kiss and his other adult stuff lots more than his kids' books. I remember I had to special order that book from my B. Dalton and wait six weeks for it to arrive. What a quaint time to live.

Honestly, The BFG is my favorite of Dahl's "younger" books. I'm excited to see it in film form, but also concerned that Spielberg will screw it up.

Cool. I always liked that book. But "Danny, the Champion of the World" is my all time favorite of his.

Now that I think about it I'm pretty sure that book has a BFG mention in it. So I guess they are kind of intertwined.

I shouted NOOOOOOOOOOOO when I found out about this. My husband asked what a BFG is. He is no longer allowed to sleep in the bed with me.

Oddly enough Dahl himself is a raging anti-Semite, self admitted not interpreting his words either, so he's sorta already got that tie in.
