*sigh*

I'm no Gore fan but as Elsa would say, "let it go" already... Yeesh.

Did Al Gore claim to have invented the internet?

We're fighting a losing battle, I'm afraid.

It's like how they keep bringing up the "57 states" thing, like Obama really thought there are 57 states.

Are braindead douchebags still parroting the line about Gore claiming to invent the internet? At what point does reality invade their twisted little circle jerk?

The invention of the hamburger isn't the only astounding claim to firsts made by the Norks.  Among the ones I hadn't heard were the discovery of a unicorn lair and that time began with the birth of the first of the Korean Kims -- Kim Il Song.

We call them "steamed hams" here in upstate New York.

And Palin never actually said that she could see Russia from her front porch. It's become a meme because, even if they never actually said it, it encapsulates their essence.

Actually it became a meme because Tina Fey said it in her impression on SNL. No one really thought Palin said it but the republicans got pissed anyway when people repeated it in jest.

/it wasn't all that far from what she did actually say

farkingismybusiness: Last night's episode of Vice on HBO dealt with North Korean defectors. Very interesting episode.

I'd have to check that out, love Vice. Seen the one where their founder had dinner with Kim Jong Un? That had to be farked up as hell!
Pretty sure though 'Escape From Camp 14' covered a lot of what the defectors have to talk about. Not all, but a lot.

Okay, I'll say it. That's an awfully hard 20... When I first saw her I seriously thought she was closer to her mid 30s or 40s.

PreMortem: I really can't understand why the US and/or South Korea hasn't waged a vigorous effort to topple this gov't. I don't think flying propaganda over the DMZ is going to cut it.

Basically because (1). they have the 4th largest army on earth, (2). have nukes, (3). the fallout on the civilian side of things. Imagine 20 million brainwashed people watching their god-king taken down by people whom they've been trained to believe is their mortal enemy, (4). China's not exactly gonna be happy with us declaring war right on their border.

The Kims will fall, no doubt, but it won't be pretty by any means. Though pretty sure a drone attack on Jong Un would solve things without any mass casualties, and that one I could see happening. Still, 20 million confused and furious civilians wouldn't exactly bode well.

Doctor Funkenstein: FTFA: Miss Kim, who says her favourite place in Pyongyang is the dolphinarium

GIS for Pyongyang dolphinarium.

I actually would kind of like to see what kind of insane madness happens at this joint.  I'm guessing they can out-weird the Japanese at this place.

Vice has a few episodes where they show that one, plus a massive 300,000 person spectacle. Actually pretty neato.

Sad but true.

Because American's for the most part care more about (and know more about) TMZ than the DMZ.

Mugato: it wasn't all that far from what she did actually say

Worse yet, it was in response to a question paraphrased as "how does being governor of Alaska give you any international affairs experience?".

Al Gore, by contrast, actually did something.
