The rule has been being called incorrectly for 140 years?

Wouldn't be the only rule in the book that hasn't been called correctly for a century. The pitcher timing rule have been ignored.

But I do love how people keep trying to tie this into being replay's fault.

the problem is MLB's replay is that they're essentially using a cross between the NFL (whereas the managers have challenges) and the NHL (the reviews are done in a central office, not on site) yet for some reason take forever. NHL reviews don't take this long do they? Do they have one guy covering all 15 games on any given day?

Now we need clarification on the transfer rule for transferring pine tar from your neck to the baseball.

It wasn't replays fault as much as a little 'fark You' from the umpires.

And rightly so

This is good, as long as they still don't actually have to touch second base.

It's a bummer the players didn't figure out that they needed to come in hard and make full contact to dislodge that ball, like they used to be able to do at home plate - the results would have been spectacular.

And get called for interference? The rules about what you can do going into second base are fairly well established.

It seems like most teams have been in the short end of it this season.

I always thought collisions where the ball gets dislodged should still be an out. I mean, there was an instant where they had the ball and made contact with you. You should be out right then, even if you continue on to plow into them and the ball eventually comes out.

Notice that nothing was done until it came up in a Yankees-RedSox-with-BSPN-taking-a-bukkake-in-the-middle-of-the-threeso me game.
