For a mass produced chain restaurant the onion rings are very good.

Subby missed a good "French Fries Surrender" opportunity.

BK 'onion' rings are equivalent to this:

/Still get em though on the rare occasion I go to BK.

BK onion rings are the bomb, I don't know what they hell they're made out of, but damn are they good.
Unfortunately, they also give me some of the raunchiest gas known to man. So much so that Mrs Buzzcut has banned me from eating them unless I'm going to be away from home for a while.

They are good, but not as good as Whataburger's

This "Burger" "King" has very popular fried rings of onion.

Geeze, lotta snark over a 40-year-old ad. Running out of things to write about over there at Consumerist?

I don't trust burgers any more but fast food rings and fries can be good.

I've never found a slice of onion in a BK onion ring.

I like them, but let's call them what they are:

BK's Deep Fried Onion Paste And Flour Fritters.

I like that Burger king serves onion rings when a lot of burger chains don't. But I would like the onion rings to be onion rings instead of chopped onions squished into breading.

Then Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" "My name is French Fryin'  Legion," he replied, "for we are greasy."

RoyBatty: I've never found a slice of onion in a BK onion ring.

I went to BK and tried them.  It seemed to me that they were mostly batter wrapped around some frozen onion slurry that really didn't taste like onion at all.

I agree with the others above. They are not onion rings, but ring shaped hushpuppies.

Red Robins.

Period.

End of discussion.

A&W rings are the absolute best.

Oh ya....Americans don't seem to like A&W.

I'm won't argue semantics. Those are some tasty, fried, round, onion flavored, objects that they serve.

Now justify the price of that stupid tower of rings,

Wonder if that was product placement or just trying to show the guy suffers from Asperger's.

Bone Daddy's in Austin has really good thin-cut onion rings.

I can't decide.  Up until the sesame seed/cicada thing, I was convinced it was pure product placement.  With the end bit of it, though, it does a good job showing how he thinks out of the box about business stuff.

Their loss (and sadly, mine as well). A frosted real glass mug of A&W served on a car door-mounted tray in mid-Summer is like legal crack.

Burger King's onion rings have spoiled me, because they were the first onion rings I ever had, are very tasty, and THE ONION DOESN'T SLIDE OUT OF THE FRIGGIN RING!!!

/Yes, I realize that's because it's an onion slurry, not a slice.

2014-04-27 04:13:40 PM
Correction, they used to be good when they had real onions in them....now they are bland tasteless rings of a mushy onion look alike paste.

For real fast food onion rings it is hard to beat those at Sonic.  The BK ones are ok on top of the Rodeo burger but I can't stand a whole order of them.

Burgerville (which is local to Oregon) has really great onion rings, but they are crazy expensive.

2014-04-27 09:16:53 PM
I tried them once. Hated them.

Tried them again a year later to make sure it wasn't a bad batch or something. Nope. Still couldn't stand them.

Lots of people love 'em, but I think they're possibly the worst I ever had.
