oh, sure, what could possibly go wrong

How about open water swimming with alligators? Check.

There's a permanent resident gator at Alexander Springs in Ocala and a sign warning people there's a gator in the water.

Not a "no swimming" sign, mind you, just a "gator present" sign.

How about no.

"which lets visitors feel small crocodiles using long rods."

So, you're poking crocodiles. You're paying to poke crocodiles with a pole.

ah, that makes more sense than feed them using long rods, which was how I read it the first time

If by diving you mean stick your head under the water and by cage you mean a completely sold sheet of acrylic that an elephant could probably stand on, then, meh.  Where's the sport.

Ironically enough, this takes place in Darwin City

what's stopping it from crawling over the top of that cage and having lunch?

Quick, cover yourselves in gasoline!

I've never understood doing stuff like that. It's like serving yourself up for the buffet. Fark that.

sonofslacker: what's stopping it from crawling over the top of that cage and having lunch?

...because the cage has a top with a secured door for the people. Not shown in the images since those are from underwater, and were the top of the cage underwater then the folks would drown lacking appropriate gear. As well, the cage is on cables which allow them to raise and lower the cage as well as move them around the enclosures.

Can that cable hold the cage weight and that of a croc that hangs onto it?  Perhaps a permanent fixture with a ladder would be safer than dangling a picnic basket overhead?

Oh, who am I kidding, just keep the cameras rolling. Between this and those crazy zorbs, as least we are being entertained.

Sometimes the headlines just write themselves.

Meh. We thought about that when we were in Darwin on bout honeymoon last year. Didn't look that exciting for $35. It's in a strip mall and it's a big touristy thing. Far from death defying. We didn't see any salties but we had more fun in the parks looking.

Looks fun, I'll bite.
