FTFA: What does this have to do with land rights issues?

Good question. Why does every sovereign citizen, states-rights kinda guy like your father turn out to be a massive douchebag?

2014-04-25 04:13:32 PM
Whenever a story like the Bundy shiat comes up I start to wonder "did we sign a treaty with China over some illegal shiat?" Or "did we just sell a bunch of missiles to Pakistan?"

Shiree, you can't be serious.

Well, even horrible people can be correct on certain issues or positions.   Unfortunately for Mr. Bundy that is not the case.

But I think it's cute the daughter is just figuring out who Hannity really is.  Like watching a child express itself for the first time.

Totes adorbs.

"Sean Hannity was all for reporting the happenings at the Bundy Ranch until this popped up. I wonder if someone hoped it would be that way...By the way, I think Mr. Hannity is more worried about his ratings than he really is about what my dad said. If he supports a supposed racist, what will that do to his ratings? He's already lost his #1 spot on Fox."

Thank you for going on television. Your 15 minutes are up. The exit is to the right. Now leave before we call security.

Right. Because this family has a demonstrated history of leaving when told to.

"What does my dad's opinion on the state of the Blacks on welfare have to do with the land rights issue?"

Nothing.

I'm pretty sure that no one's position re: you dad's beef with he BLM has been changed as a result of finding out that your dad is a bigot. I'm also pretty sure that no one has claimed that it should.

I gotta say that it's hilarious that she's blaming the media for turning this into a circus when all those racist comments came from a press conference held by Bundy himself.

2014-04-25 05:54:02 PM
Shiree Bundy Cox on Thursday took aim at conservatives who rallied and amplified her father's cause on national television only to abandon him after the media "turned this into a circus side show."

Now, now.  Be fair.  Your father did most of that on his own.  No one forced racist words into his mouth.

What does this have to do with land rights issues?"

Well, you see honey, it's like this.  Fox is a 24 hour news channel.  And it only takes about five minutes to figure out that the only land right issue his is that your family has no right to the land in question.  That leaves Fox with twenty three hours and fifty five minutes each day to fill.  And there's nothing more entertaining than watching to see how much cognitive dissonance a redneck can fit in his own mouth after he's already shoved both feet in there.

Clive Bundy needs to pay what he owes and go the f*ck away. Day 57 of nothing happening with Flight 370 is fresher than this story.

Oh my.

You have much to learn about the world, child.

This was allll about having a new angle to the "Should we have smaller government?" question that resonates so well in the Republican base.

Your father was his product, you see. A good that he bought in order to generate money and attention for himself. Now that he sees a faulty product, he going to discard it.

I'm sorry to hear that he wasn't that into you.

This would, and should have never been a national news story, because it's not something that's happening on a national level, and for that matter, not even a state, or even a county level. It's not even a local story, it's a hyperlocal story. Somehow I managed to live in Clark County for 35 years without ever hearing a word about this old fool and his illegal ranch, and I've even gone 4-wheeling around in that region quite a bit, and it just wasn't on my radar at all. There were no signs anywhere, no protesters, nothing about it. This is a financial matter between one man and the Bureau of Land Management, and it doesn't concern anyone else. Somehow, it's been hashing out in local courts for 20 years without ever even catching the eye of a local reporter until 2 weeks ago, when Hannity saw suddenly dollar signs in promoting it to his flock. Hannity, Ailes and Murdoch are laughing all the way to the bank.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agXns-W60MI

After watching that, and some others I've watched where Bundys speaks at length, I sense that he's a whole lot more naive than he imagines himself to be.

I'm sure he's got plenty of desert sense, but thatdoesn't translate to the arena he's been placed into, and that's at the root of his troubles.

I do agree with his daughter, that video doesn't have anything to do with him owing money to the BLM for use of public land. She's right about that.

That's what she doesn't get. Her father wants something for nothing from the federal government, which is why he spouts that sovreign citizen bullshiat. Yet him mooching a million bucks off the feds is somehow not nearly as bad as a black person who gets a few hundred a month on welfare.

He thinks because he is white, his welfare is somehow superior to other peoples'. Supreme, if you will.

Thus, pundits who were quick to run out and dub this guy the Cesar Chavez of rednecks, once again realize they hitched their wagon to an unstable loser and had to retreat.

But hey, I'm sure she takes comfort in the fact that her father was more than willing to have her take a bullet for him.

"Hey, I'm supposed to exploit them! They're not supposed to exploit me!", says every friggin' attention-whoring crazy-ass "sovereign citizen"/thief.

Remember in The Dead Zone, when Martin Sheen grabs the baby and uses it as a shield?  In the movie, that was enough to ruin his career.

The modern GOP is craven enough that it's not only considered acceptable, but a "smart move" to try to stick it to the feds.

I kind of like how finally the right wing caught some fleas from the dogs they chose to lay with.  The irony is there really isn't much difference in what the Duck Dynasty bigot said than what Clive Bundy did.  Bundy just didn't wrap his bigotry in the Bible.

On a totally silly side, I wonder if Clive Bundy is related to Al Bundy.  It just seems that only a "Bundy" can go from a hero to a zero so fast.  Considering all the terrible people the political right have put on a pedestal and defended like George Zimmerman; it would be a "Bundy" to say something so bad that even the George Zimmerman defenders cannot defend.
