I used to be into meat, vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains, and dairy.  But they totally sold out a few years ago so now I've moved on to other types of foods.  Although I hesitate to even call them "foods".  You wouldn't understand.

What an utterly fatuous article.

Came here for this.  Really?  Toast?  I can't wrap my mind around that.

I was at a fair where one of the vendors was selling ramen burgers, and the line was snaking around the whole fairground and easily a three hour wait.  It's just a burger on some ramen noodles fried in a bit of fritter batter.  You don't need to wait three hours for it.

I was eating ramen noodles in my poverty days of yore.  I was hipster back then? Aw, shiat.

Isn't "Poutine" some foreign word for pussy?

If  you can't get it in a can or a box I may not of heard about it.

K, using this on my friends in Montreal. Unfortunately it's Canadian for "Retarded Irish Nachos".

Yes.

NPR ran a story on it.

Artisanal toast.  $3.50 a slice, topped with butter, jam, or peanut butter at one stall.

I gotta give the guy that had the balls to sell toast for $3.50 a slice credit.  That he got people to pay it is farking amazing to me.

Wasn't everyone?Top Ramen 10/$1 FTW!

Another great "starving student" meal was spaghetti mixed with margarine and Kraft parmesan, I'll still cook that up once in a blue moon.

Fries and gravy are great. Fries, gravy, and cheese are great. So how can you get it so very wrong with poutine? The gravy is too runny and the cheese is all wrong if you want it to stick to the fries. It's just a big bland mess.

People like trends, particularly being at the forefront of them. Food is a good trend space.

naw, you gotta reverse the vowels, like I did in a Montreal restaurant when I asked if some unknown dish was a regional specialty like the pitoune I ate for lunch.

pitoune can mean a log floating down a river, a flume ride, or a hot ot sexually loose young woman.

There is no conceivable way rum, a liquor that has its own aisle in liquor stores can possibly have "peaked."  It might not be selling as well, but there is no way rum, of all things, is going anywhere.

Yeah, that's about when I decided it was either a satire piece or a lot of people need to be put in timeout.

Good thing I didn't waste too much time on that thing.

Sriracha will never be over. Not so long as there is ramen. Ramen requires sriracha, and ramen isn't going anywhere.

All of these "trendy" foods are linked, you see...

And she's saying kimchi will be big. ANYONE who knows where there is kimchi, sriracha will be there faithfully by it's side!

It's almost time for summer fruity rum blender drinks.  That and gin and tonics.

At times, depends on what kind you get. I've had some incredible Kimchi up on Argyle back in Chicago, but some of the stuff I had elsewhere is like the smell of feet and rotted veggies.
