I guess the county fairs are going to have to settle for Warrant.

Stryper is another possible option.

They're still around and round.

They haven't been popular for awhile, but you know what they say about the newfound kitschy love for hair metal: what comes around goes around.

Evidently there was a lack of communication and he's no longer a wanted man. Will he be back for more?

Yeah, I saw Poison (well Brett Michaels) at Busch Gardens. I didn't know they were there but they put a pretty good show.

When I was a kid in scouts we named our patrol the Ratt patrol.

Which "Ratt" did he quit exactly?

Ratt (1976-1981), Ratt Featuring Stephen Pearcy (2000-2001), Stephen Pearcy's Ratt (2000-2001), Ratt with Stephen Pearcy (2000-2001), Rat Attack (2005), or Ratt (2006-2008), Ratt (2009-2011 or Ratt (2012-2014)?

Pearcy - "After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it's time that I personally part ways with the band."  According to the band's web site, the band had been formed in 1976 and played under various names until 1981 when the formally took the name Ratt, and the rest was big hair history.

Huh, I knew a chick, briefly, who thought that fIREHOSE had somehow stolen its name from Firehouse. I still regret not setting her on fire.

if you're ever in Brooklyn, by the intersection of Green Point and Wiliamsburg and you happen upon a bar called The Palace, make sure you play the burned Ratt cd in the jukebox.  I gave that disc to the guys 10 years ago and it's still in there.

Iron Maiden, hair metal, two guys tending bar that are straight out of the 80s and if you want to smoke, they'll give you a coffee cup to ash in.  Very few bars as good as that since the Bellevue closed.

Saw them that year too....in Great Falls, Montana.  Loudest concert I've ever been to--and that was 29 years ago.
Saw them in 2002 or so and they sounded damn good, but Pearcy was a dick.  Wouldn't bother seeing again.

all their profits in the last 15 years are probably from KFI-AM's bumper music...

Surprisingly, yes. However, I'm still waiting to hear why what comes around goes around.

I don't care what anyone thinks, but Warren DeMartini could shred.

/the girlfriends from my teen years all loved RATT, I know their songs by heart.

I saw them when they opened for Rod Torfulson's Armada featuring Herman Menderchuk.

One of my favorite spoken word bits from Henry Rollins is where he checks out a Ratt show in LA with a friend years after the decline of hair bands. YouTube link (NSFW language)

When my son was around 6 years old he heard that song and told me, "dad, he never tells me why?"

Bobby "Cheesecake" Blotzer replied with "Ratt is bigger than the sum of its parts". Bigger? I play to more people than them in my church band. I love hair metal, but come on.

It must not be the first time he's quit, I'm not up on my Ratt history. I googled them a few years ago just to see if they still existed and at the time they had a lead singer that went by the name Jizzy Pearl. For real. I guess Jizzy didn't stick around long, huh?

In 2000 I went to a concert of one of those bands that had a great album in the mid 80's. I was disappointed that they had apparently released 15 albums that never got air time on the radio since then. The crowd was really depressing too. I feel bad, I can't recall which one , megadeath maybe. On the flip side, I did get to see Meatloaf and Molly Hatchet in the late 80's and they mostly played the stuff I knew of.

In the mid-90s I saw the drummer from Ratt getting a BJ from an unattractive woman in her forties in a bathroom stall with no doors.  We made weird eye contact thru the mirror as I washed my hands.

Is he the lead singer? i.e. the reason Ratt never had the obligatory power ballad hit. Dude had no vocal range.

I think some of Ratt's music is actually pretty good but no, I wouldn't want to go hear it live in any incarnation. Some music from that era has held up but none of the bands have.
