Look at that subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh, my God. It even has a watermark

Kind of a pity they're NOT on there though, since (at least as of a few years ago, I assume they're still similar...) the Fark crew's transparent plastic business cards are quite cool.

Win.

Some of those cards were pretty clever.

Mine's more interactive.  It's on a thumb drive.  You gotta plug it into the computer first to see it.

Where I work, it is still very simple and minimalist, red text for the logo, black text with contact information on white card.

With all the crazy business cards out there now, ours actually stands out among the myriad other colors people use.

That, and no one wants to spend the money changing out everyone's card.

I just love plugging random thumb drives into my computer.

On a serious note, have you had anyone make a comment like that to you? I would be surprised if you hadn't.

You can't both have the same lawyer in a divorce, right?

tricycleracer: You can't both have the same lawyer in a divorce, right?

Correct. But with these you can keep half and give the other half to the person you are cheating with so they also can get a divorce.

Mine is the number for my prepaid cell phone written on the middle bill of the stack of twenties I give you to make sure my bid is the one that your company accepts.

I've gotten lots of compliments on it!

Great design exercises, for sure, but you are basically handing out dollar bills with many of these. some more. If you do high volume, these might blow your budget.

Also, if you are someone who receives a lot of cards, the last thing you need to deal with is non-standard formats.

Back in the 1950's, my family ran an electrical contracting company and fix-it shop.  Their business cards were printed on copper sheeting.

True that. Can't imagine what those tiny plungers might cost to make and distribute.

I still kind of want one. Yeah, I don't need a plumber, least of all one from the Vancouver area, but geez, those are cool. Plus I'm easily amused. Hee, plungers...

One of my favorites was carried in a handyman's tool box.  It was an icepick with a radiator repair shop's information printed on it.  For those not aware, you can destroy a radiator with an icepick.  It would be like Safelite handing out baseball bats, or Discount Tire tossing nails in the road with "10% off a set of new tires" printed on them.  My friend used it to find studs in the wall.

There might be an adult toy site called adamandeve.com, and they may sell an accessory called nipple suckers...I wouldn't know anything about such things of course, mere speculation on my part.

Our first set of business cards were designed like miniature punch cards- complete with the notch on the corner, and a few of the square holes cut out.  It was a tad bit more expensive than a normal card, but people enjoyed them.
