Let me guess, Muscovy? My grandma would feed the ducks from the pond behind her condo and that was fine for most part except for the Muscovy. He was bigger, meaner, and much more agressive. He'd attack people, dogs, cats, or anything else that got near him. He even harrassed the gator that got into the pond one year.

FTFA:  "...the duck flapped its wings at her and knocked her back..."  So the duck didn't actually make physical contact with her.  At lease that's my takeaway.  The article could be wrong.  But it a duck just "flaps it's wings at you"  and you fall over yourself and get hurt, then that's too bad.  I didn't see where anybody else backed up her claims about its marauding the neighborhood.

We have one that lives at a pond that is near our house.  That damn thing walks across the road and doesn't give a shiat about any car.  I pulled up on it yesterday and honked and the damn thing stopped and looked at me like "WTF are you going to do?".

It occurs to me that in every Far Side cartoon I've ever seen involving a duck, the duck has been depicted as evil.

Yep.  "Your duck attacked me.  As I am not wont to cook him, you can have his remains.  You might find his bill in the pond, I wasn't paying attention."

Time for some Ogden Nash:

The hunter crouches in his blind
'Neath camouflage of every kind
And conjures up a quacking noise
To lend allure to his decoys
This grown-up man, with pluck and luck
is hoping to outwit a duck

THIS. They have ridges in their beaks that are meant for tearing, and they're not shy about using them

At least this wasn't a goose. Man those thing are meaaaaaan. You try to shew 3-4 of them off your lawn, and an hour later 10 more will come. You try to shew those away, your ass will be attacked by all of em.

It is a duck.  One good smack and you will break several of its bones and it is no longer a threat.

Never, NEVER try to get a closer look at the cute little babies. It will not end well.

As for the duck, they're mean but tiny. One good kick and they will go away.
