It's Wade that's the biatch made player on the Heat.

James MAY have taken a shot there, but damn if he isn't over-selling it. Nice acting. What is this, soccer?

I was astounded that wasn't a flagrant when I watched it live. Remember, this is the same player who got his nose broken on a drive (and still made the basket!) without getting a foul called. And people say the NBA still uses the Jordan Rules.

Shut up moron. You didn't see the play because you stopped watching the NBA before it was cool, you have no idea if it was flopping. But that doesn't stop you from spewing the same tired shiat as everyone other "thugball" hating moron does it?

It was a cheap shot, an elbow to the throat by a dirty talentless hack who's big contribution to the game was his ability to foul people 6 times.

I've watched a dozen or so hockey games.  Never saw flopping, or drama-queen theatrics.  Never really saw it 90% of the NBA games I've watched either.

Lebron flops all the time and whines on every offensive possession that he doesn't get a foul call on.  That's why people think he's a whiny little biatch.

McRoberts can't be going for the ball when he is throwing elbows, but boy did LeBron milk it there.

Over selling a hard elbow to the throat? Seriously? He sat down on the floor trying to not show how bad it actually hurt. Its amazing the lengths someone will go to find something negative to say about someone they have never met

He went down for 30-40 seconds and then went to the FT line.  Are we sitting here deciding how much pain he was in after getting elbowed in the throat by a 6'10" 240lb guy and using "hockey" as the barometer?

Hockey is a great sport and a ton of fun to watch.  It sucks that guys have to miss playoff series because of cheap hits and dirty plays.

I hate flopping in the NBA (this was not a flop) and boarding in the NHL.  Not everybody in hockey comes back from injury the next period.

That is Dolph Ziggler.  He beat Hogan that night.

You apparently haven't been watching closely to the hockey. Plenty of diving in the Rangers-Flyers games, the Penguins have hired an acting coach, and the Blues-Blackhawks games have had some "embellishments".

I've never understood the argument of "People can and do play hockey while severely injured, therefore it's the best." The two seem like entirely unrelated ideas.

It wasn't a flop and half the people in here saying it was wouldn't have gotten up after taking that shot. This seems to be the annual thread were the hockey fans that are jealous that basketball is more popular come in to say that hockey players are tougher than NBA players. They need to seriously chill out and just enjoy the sport that they like and stop getting mad because more people like something else.

2014-04-24 11:16:42 AM
As a hockey fan, I have to say that that was a nasty hit.  A combined 500 pounds or so running towards each other, jumping, and leading with an elbow.  That's a farking flagrant.   It looks divey because LeBron's such a tank, but that's gonna get to everyone.  Trust me, as a Bills fan I hate Tom Brady just like you guys all hate LeBron, but that doesn't change the fact that sometimes they do take actual dirty hits.  And don't forget, hockey players are tougher than pretty much anyone, so using them as your baseline is a little ridiculous.

McBob has been a decent complement to Big Al because of his floor spacing and passing. He's not good enough to start on a top-5 team, but he definitely has some value as a stretch 4.

Foul happens at 0:09, we see replays until 0:56, when he appears on the FT line.  For 15 seconds a camera, that is right under the basket at ground level, zooms in on LeBron in pain.

The NBA is a great league right now with a TON of young talents.  It sucks that people can't enjoy it because it isnt the same game they remember enjoying in the 70s/80s/90s.

Both the NHL and NBA have had really exciting first weeks of play.

That is what happened and that is what it was.

Looks like Wade went over and said something, LeBron collected himself while that conversation was going on, and he went to the line to ice the game.  Ho hum on the Game 3.

No scuffle between players not involved, no glove were dropped, no long term injuries.  I didnt see the post game interviews but there arent any LeBron quotes flaoting around.

It sounds like everyone in the game is treating as a "hard playoff foul" except the people in this thread who have a different standard for toughness.

You're right, hard elbows to the throat are just a part of this non-contact game. Heck, we used to have tackling! And it was so much better, right? Who wants superstars making fantastic plays when you can just kick someone in the jimmy and take it to the hole?

If you want what the NBA used to be, you're SOL. Go watch some MMA.

Yes, they are. Such things happen. They're called fouls. The game isn't non-contact, either. Are you new to watching it?.
You'd probably find "street ball" or the Globetrotters more to your liking.

If you can't walk, you can't walk...   LeBron actually came back into that game, as well, and had a crucial rebound and assist in the final seconds, while hobbling.....     He was in pain... the hockey player who died was not presumably in any pain, so bad comparison.

SquiggsIN: Mcroberts is a hack (I'm from Indy as is he so I've been watching that scrub for years) but, this wasn't intentional. Lebron has been known to throw elbows to faces on his way to the hoop too. He just delivered one to Roy hibberts chin a few weeks back. Lebron is the best in the game but, he still whines and flops and makes it easy to dislike him.

Be fair. That hibbert shot was only after he had been railed like six times.

The heat play straight up d. No cheap shots or dirty shiat. Lebron doesn't go out of his way to wail on anyone. He does run into people on the way to the basket but that's not cheap. Everyone knows what cheap is. Cheap is you can't guard the guy and you get mad and foul too hard. I loved when haslem annihilated that guy last year in the playoffs.

fark cheap shots. Play d. The spurs and heat played a great tough series with nocard cheap shots just great d.

I like vogel but he does have his guys muck it up a little too much.
