Smelly McUgly: As far as self-indulgent Sorkin TV shows go, Studio 60 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Newsroom.
Jeteupthemiddle: I like The Newsroom....mostly.The love triangle is annoying. Couldn't care less about it, but for the most part, I enjoyed the show.I liked Studio 60 as well, but my real issue with it was that the sketch comedy that was supposed to be great was terrible.I enjoyed Sportsnight as well. I think faking a sports highlights show is a lot easier than a late-night sketch comedy.
Gubbo: For tv, Sorkin peaked with West Wing. Still an amazing movie writer. When he is allowed have total control he just goes crazy. Also, why is that when I watch every episode I can see where he wrote it for 42 minutes, and then had to pad it out to 55ish for HBO. If you put in one more piece of irredeemable like the Sex and the City tourbus and then chasing down the twitter person. You know what, screw it. Cocaine, hookers, blackjack
FlashHarry: better yet, they'll nearly wrongly identify the bombers and then do the right thing at the last moment and sit on their scoop.
FlashHarry: Pocket Ninja: Although as bad as The Newsroom became after its first season, it still never got as bad as Silicon Valley. Holy Christ, that's a terrible show.the newsroom is appallingly written, directed and acted... i agree. but i kind of like silicon valley.
Benevolent Misanthrope: There are no Mulligans in television
Pocket Ninja: You can't have one.Although as bad as The Newsroom became after its first season, it still never got as bad as Silicon Valley. Holy Christ, that's a terrible show.
