namatad: so ... I predict next week we will have a prom story about blacks or gays being banned from prom.cue the outrage police
whyRpeoplesostupid: Mary Hill used to hang out in Cherry Hill Park. The game she played lasted all day to way after dark. Now, all the girls, they criticized her but all the guys just idolized her, cause Mary Hill was such a thrill after dark
Theaetetus: Are boys allowed to wear pants to the prom? Would her pants have been acceptable if worn by a boy? Was the only issue with her wearing pants her gender? Is this a public school?Since the answers to all of these are yes, you can expect a lawsuit and a very, very quick settlement. Since we've already had this exact case before.
semiotix: GTFOWell, traditionally, there is that other option.
Obryn: Jeans? Yeah. GTFO, male or female./have some class
MustardTiger: I really hate the way kids dress. This kid looks like a farking moron. Looking like an idiot doesn't mean she deserves to get the boot!
ramblinwreck: Oh geez, again...looking for sexism again where it doesn't exist.
fusillade762: "The teacher tapped me on the shoulder and said she had a problem with what I was wearing. I thought it was because of the hat or the leather jacket and I was like, 'Well, I'll take those off,' and she was like no, 'It's the pants.'"Well... take them off.
nipner: Good for her, and Fark the school! Average prom cost dropped this year... to just below a THOUSAND dollars per student. WTF. Glad to see a student be logical, instead of a Sneauflake who needs a grand dropped for a few dumb hours.
ecl: She just wasn't hot enough to pull off the look.

Glad to see a student be logical, instead of a Sneauflake who needs a grand dropped for a few dumb hours.Who the fark is spending a grand on prom? Granted, mine was about 15 years ago, but still:Tickets for two: $40Tux Rental: $60ishCorsage for date: $20Dinner beforehand (for two): $40ishTotal: $180, and that was me covering most of the cost for my date, all she had to do was buy a dress, and I've seen those on sale for well under $100.Granted, I never rented a limo, but neither did most other people. How are people spending that much money on prom?
Harvey Manfrenjensenjen: And as we all know, the word of a high-schooler is gospel. I'm sure this played out exactly as she described it, and in no way did she try to deliberately scour the dress code to ensure that she would find a way to show up in violation with the express intention of getting kicked out... of a prom that she had also probably insisted that she had no interest in.
The My Little Pony Killer: It's a high school dance. Something that you'll pay way too much money for in order to get pictures that you'll never look at again. You'll get over that one kid who didn't dress up as well as you, I promise.
SquiggsIN: I hope the school settles the lawsuit out of court for enough money to cover her college expenses.
