eh, i didn't think this was all that great. she's supposed to be doing something from the height of imperial russia and it looks like a kids halloween costume. i guess its not even that its *bad* so much as, why do we have a full article about this woman's decent but not amazing costume?

Actually, she has a more accurate appearance than the Civ V game model. Cathy got a bit thick a little later in life.

did you read the fark headline?  in the cosplay world, no where is Civ5 represented, at least until this article.  it's mediocrity is still worthy of a half-article interview.

/id take one ... more ... turn .... with her

If you show up anywhere in a fancy gown and say you're Dido, people are just going to think you're doing a local production of the opera by Purcell, which is, like all English opera, absolutely horrid.

Pretty spot on for her. I fear that if I went in a spiffy Nebuchadnezzar II costume then people would assume I was cosplaying a Techno Rob Zombie.

Civ 5 is a pretty amazing game after using some of the popular mods. Fans of the series have put a lot of time into making it a game that will be played for a long time. I should probably check out how the game of thrones mod is doing these days.

/'twas the game that made me go to Win 7 64. My version of XP turtled with the inherent RAM limit.

PapaChester: I call Pedro II

You can have him. He keeps declaring war on me, never attacks, and takes peace 10 turns later.  That's almost as annoying as Mao begging to be a vassal every 4 turns in Civ IV.

Any recommendations? I just started playing it again recently.

Finally gave in and bought Civ5 after loving 4. While I do like it so far, it's not as fun as 4 for me right now. Bought the basic game from Steam but I'm wondering if I should've just spent the other $20 for the big bundle with everything. Argh

I've got more than 1700 hours into it and I've never used a mod (aside from getting an achievement one time).  And I've never really gotten into multiplayer either.  I still don't tire of it as just a single player game.

the people who like Civ5 are the people who bought all the DLC.  The people disappointed with Civ5 are the people who owned Civ4 and wondered why they didn't bring any of the magic to the base Civ5.  Gotta make that DLC $$$ I guess.
