Much as I love Farscape, I'm concerned it's been too long.

I'm genuinely surprised there was never a Stargate/Farscape crossover.

/I don't count the movie pitch - I'm talking full miniseries

Sure, they may WANT to do a movie and even say they are, but until I see sets, actors and cameras rolling, I won't frelling get my hopes up.

Was hoping for a good new series with the Jim Henson Workshop, but I'll take a movie. Scorpius is awesome.

From what I've read, they seem to be taking that into account.

I'm hoping this goes in the direction as sort of "Farscape: The Next Generation." Nods to the original, including cameos by everyone who was left alive at the end of Peacekeeper Wars, but hopefully the start of its own unique and awesome story.

/Hopefully without the shiattiness of "pre-Beard" TNG...

Yeah, you don't see Claudia Black much anymore these days, I know she was starting to show her age more on SG-1, and Browder has put on some weight. Rumor is that the movie will have to do with John's kid. After finding out about the movie last night I've started reading the Farscape comics that I didn't know existed. So far so good, they seem to have kept the spirit of the show much better than the other comics that were meant to continue a cancelled show.

FTA:  the film would follow John and Aeryn's son, D'Argo (or Little D, as we will always refer to him).

I don't know about this.  Adding a spunky kid has killed off many a franchise.

That's because they were written by Kieth R.A. DeCandido, who also wrote for the show. Rockne S. O'Bannon, one of the show's creators, was also involved with the comics.

Officially, they are canon. Which sucks, as you'll find out going along. However, it does provide the lead-in tie for the movie hook that they are going for, at the present time.

Scyfy is doing sci fi again, so they are looking at an old franchise their core viewers liked a lot.  It's been a while, so they'll do a one-off and see if there is any love left out there.

I'll never understand why people liked that show, outside of the hot chick. I tried watching it a few years ago when Netflix had the show on there and I just couldn't keep watching it. The acting was bad, there wasn't much to what little bit of story I had seen, and the CGI was attrocious.

Goddammit, why'd you say that? Now I'm going to be wondering who dies for the entire series, and I'm only on the third series of comics. The one where "Deke" sends daddy to an unrealized reality where he married the Sebacean Princess.

Farscape set a record for how much it jumped the shark.  The final season was just plain awful; some of the worst SF to appear on TV, and made  Space 1999 seem like compelling SF.

As for the final cliffhanger, it was more than obvious that the solution was "Instant Crighton: Just Add Water"

In all fairness, Gigi Edgley is 37 now.  Its going to be rather difficult for her to pull off that teenage waif nyphomaniac angle now than it was when she was 22.

Watch Jim Henson's Creature Studio.  Don't get me wrong, Gigi is still quite the beautiful woman, but she's not Chiana anymore.

See, I'd much rather see her grow up and be more of the world wise "Kid, I've done things you can't even imagine" mentor type.  The retired rogue that can still bust out some skills and put the new generation in their place when she has to.

Well if the rumors are true and the new movie would be focusing on Crichton and Aeryn's son at age 19, then there's no problem with everyone being a bit older. That said, the old characters should take a backseat to D'Argo Sun Crichton.

I don't think that I could ever choose a single favourite show. It all depends on my mood at the time. But if forced to choose one, it would probably be Farscape. Utterly brilliant in so many ways. Anything with the Henson name on it is pure gold, and Farscape is the finest of them all.

Rygel is one of the best characters of any type created for a tv show. You can't help but love him.

My all-time favorite scene was the episode where they bring aboard a group of bad guys, including that female Hynerian. She ends up kidnapping Rygel and escaping in one of Moya's transport pods. Our trusty heroes give chase.

The female Hynerian tells Rygel they're going to get away because Moya's crew will never fire on the pod while she has their friend hostage.

Then Rygel starts laughing and says, "You're gonna die, biatch."
