Guessing they climbed into the arroyo - so I'd let it slide.

Rescuers searched for nearly an hour, stabbing poles into the accumulation of hail, looking for the missing woman.

A woman is lost?  Let me get my stabbin' pole!

big pig peaches: 7ft of hail? Is that possible?

Yea. It's wash from flood waters. It's incredibly dangerous if you don't get to higher ground as it's unswimmable... like being run over by syrup.

Why anyone was in an arroyo during a storm, tho... that's some not-very-brightness going on.

Out in the West Texas town of El Paso,
I got knocked down by some ungodly hail.
Afternoon would find me buried in a Texas arroyo;
Music would play and my arms they would flail.

I enjoy Texas quite a bit as a transplant myself.  Hot is better than cold, the food is great, everything is cheap, the economy is great, people are nice, and if they aren't fat the Latina women are smoking hot, and there's always good live music. It's also shockingly tolerant and open minded, but I'm in a large city.  That said, the weather has been ludicrous lately.

/and there is plenty of outdoor activities to be had
//looking at buying some ranch land since it's only $1k an acre

No, the worst thing about living in Texas is the immigrants.

I don't mean Mexicans either.  I mean the New Yorkers and the Californians.

I can tell the subby is from El Paso, lack of basic reading comprehention.

Summary, 4 homeless people got caught in a hail storm trying to pass an arroyo, one didn't make it.

Since no ID on woman pulled out...betting that this is an illegal

Grew up in EP, locals know better than to play around in the arroyos, especially if there is any rain in forecast.  El Paso does not have the drainage and roadside sewers like most cities, since it is dry.

I was wondering that myself. El Paso is more North Juarez than it is Alabama.

Well now, let us think about this.  East Texas is probably the Alabama he was thinking about.  That's maybe a sixth of the state at best.  North Panhandle is much more Kansas/Oklahoma (yes, there is a difference from Alabama).  El Paso and South Texas are much more Mexican but in different ways. . .and then you have the urban triangle formed by I-35, I-45, and I-10.

There is a lot more diversity in Texas than the stereotype lets on.

It means that there is a lot of derp in Texass.  Lots of snake-handling, sister-farking, kkk stuff.

Normal Repugnican stuff.

Personally.  I'm glad to see that Tennessee weather is finally resetting back to it's normal random snow in May.  So far it hasn't gotten past February.  But we're getting there.
