I wish I had thought of that and become rich and famous while educating a generation of students.

I created anti-matter by moving up, up, down, down, left, right...

I know less about fusion now than I did before playing that game.

No thanks.

2048... now there's a dangerous game.

Just last week I was walking to class and I saw a hunched mass by the back door of the computer science building. As I got closer, I saw it was one of the grad students that had TA'd my classes. He'd been gone for a few weeks. Now I knew why. The sunken cheeks, unshaven face, quivering demenor... he had the 2048 monkey on his back.

He'd lost everything. His job, his girlfriend, even his keyboard had been reposessed. Guy propositioned me with sexual favors in exchange a quick hit off of my computer's USB port so he could play just one more game of 2048 on his phone. He swore he'd go clean after that and that he had a possible assembly language gig lined up. I knew it was just a lie. I walked away and went to class as I heard him wimper next to a rusty old 42U rack by the dumpster.

Sad to see someone go down that road. It's hard, man. Hard.

Man, if only the headline and the article had somehow mentioned 2048 so then we would all know what kind of game this was.

No no no. I just got 11th Doctor (2048 equivalent) for the first time tonight. Not gonna get sucked in.

Probably.

I just managed to fuse Fe56.

All I have to say is, damn.  I'm an alpha nerd, a programmer, an astronomy geek and other unhip things.  I kneel before you all, good sirs (and madams) and chant

"I'm not worthy."

On the bright side, it has effectively wiped out flappy bird. So that's good.

Pfft, lightweight.

I went transuranic on my first attempt.

Farm Helium4 in the top 3 rows and keep your fusion seeds in the bottom. Move left and right and you will generate two helium3 just above your seed rather often. Then combine the 3s to make a 4 and pop it down on your seed. Don't make Beryllium8 because that goes down the garden path and is a dead end.

Fusion wise... I'm sure he's a nice guy, just shy.

I fed my blob a ketchup jelly bean and a beryllium jelly bean. It immediately got lung cancer and died.

I hit a plateau where I was getting 2048 about half the games I played.

It started getting repetitive and I think I'm done.

/never got a 4096

This game was boring when it was just 2048 and it's no less boring now.
I beat it on my second play.

Why are people so addicted to it?

Ummmm you need Beryllium8 to get to Carbon12 which is needed for Oxygen16. The trick is to avoid having your Oxygen16 hit a Helium4, since that goes to -> Neon20 -> Magnesium24 which is the dead end. You need to put two Oxygen16s together, then keep slamming Helium4s into the result. Once you get to Nickel56 let it decay to Iron56.

//Beryllium7 is a biatch though since it just sits there until you can decay it back to a Helium4

Fusion Guide
Deuteron = Hydrogen+Hydrogen
3Helium = Deuteron+Hydrogen
4Helium = 3Helium+3Helium
7Beryllium = 4Helium+3Helium
8Beryllium = 4Helium+4Helium
12Carbon = 8Beryllium+4Helium
16Oxygen = 12Carbon+4Helium
20Neon = 16Oxygen+4Helium
24Magnesium = 20Neon+4Helium
32Sulfur = 28Silicon+4Helium
36Argon = 32Sulfur+4Helium
40Calcium = 36Argon+4Helium
44Titanium = 40Calcium+4Helium
48Chromium = 44Titanium+4Helium
52Iron = 48Chromium+4Helium
56Nickel = 52Iron+4Helium
28Silicon = 16Oxygen+16Oxygen
20Neon = 12Carbon+12Carbon

Decay Guide
7Beryllium decays to 4Helium
8Beryllium decays to 4Helium
20Neon decays to 16Oxygen
52Iron decays to 48Chromium
56Nickel decays to 56Iron
