DarkVader: Recoil Therapy: As much as I enjoy a good cop bashing thread (& I do), it looks like the kickstand was down & he was parked (in the middle of a turn lane) while texting.

That bike is not in the turn lane, nor is the kickstand down.


Not only *is* the kickstand down, there are multiple pictures from many cars all showing the bike cop in the same position. Why he's stationary there is a mystery, as we can't tell what's ahead of him, like an accident in the roadway for instance. It's certainly peculiar that the cop is alone in 3 lanes of traffic but all of the photographers have traffic as far as the eye can see backed up behind them.

I don't know about TX, but here they specifically exempted the cops from the texting law.
