The guy put his entire career on the line to make his case, by going over his immediate bosses' heads.  Do you think that is more likely, or less likely, to happen today? Not just in a government agency like NASA, but in a private company?

If you have an issue that is severe enough, is getting ignored by the mid-levels, and are able to state the case effectively, and know how to schmooze the admin assistant, then I'm not seeing any problem.

The moon landing fake? Of course. The NASA center in Houston is where all the conspirators were kept, just like in The Prisoner, and never allowed to leave.

hmm, that's an unfortunate picture there.  looks like some kind of weird vein going down his face but its just part of the slideshow graphic.  youd think they could have found a better one.

Do you have any idea how expensive it is to have thousands of fake workers leaving every day and clogging up every road in Clear Lake and Alvin?

/well, it's down to a few hundred now thanks to our decision not to fake any great accomplishments as a nation.. :-/

You gotta love this guy. From the start, Werner Von Braun wanted to have this huge "Nova" mega-rocket carrying everything to the Moon and back, and then this one nobody from nowhere comes along and proposes a more practical method of Lunar Orbit Rendezvous. Needless to say, the Kraut side of NASA wanted to bury this uppity little scientist for his heresy, but he made so much of a fuss that it got harder and harder for his concept to be ignored.

The day Von Braun had to finally accept the facts that LOR was far better than his Wagnerian Nova monstrosity must have stuck hard in his throat.

Yes, yes. The moon landing was faked. Also, Kurt Cobain, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Aaliyah, and Marilyn Monroe were murdered, while Elvis Presley, Tupac, and Jim Morrison are still alive, and Paul McCartney, Prince, and Britney Spears are all really dead.

2014-04-20 12:47:54 PM
It never happened. There's more compelling evidence showing we didn't. Was there a good reason to fake it? Yes, winning the space race against the Soviets solidified our position as THE world power. But we didn't go.

I have to go with the evidence, and the evidence says no.

Funny, I always thought Von Braun was a proponent of Earth Orbit Rendezvous, which involved building a lunar vehicle in orbit using smaller rockets??

you forgot Princess Diana, and her grandmother-in-law the Queen Mum, who was half cyborg, half reptilian nazi.

They're both still alive and living at Dodi's auntie's villa in the Costa Del Sol, where all the classy people retire. relocate after faking their own deaths to cover the fact that they actually live four times as long as humans do.

Yeah, that's what I thought; Von Braun was a proponent of EOR, not direct ascent.

I've always loved the moon landing hoax truthers. No matter how many times their theories are debunked they just keep trucking along.

If only there had been some rival super-power back in the 60's and 70's that could have pointed their radio dishes toward the moon during the Apollo missions to prove that there were no radio transmissions coming from there and that the US was faking the whole thing.

Oh and then there's the whole lunar retro-reflector problem at the Apollo 11, 14 and 15 landing sites.

And of course the whole problem with Lunar Reconaissance Orbiter taking photos of the landing sites showing all the wheel-tracks, LEM descent stages and the foot-tracks.

But other than that the whole thing was a fraud. LOL

Tom Dolan and John Houbolt for the win.

Somewhat as a voice in the wilderness, I would like to pass on a few thoughts.
Do we want to go to the moon or not?

Rest In Peace John Houbolt

And you believe that crap!?  My 5 yo niece does a better job in photoshop than those "photos".  The worst are the mars rover "pictures" tho.  B grade movies have done it better.

I think Von Braun's Nova was really meant as a heavy lifter follow-on for building the space station, and setting up for Mars, more than for the first Moon landings. Nova would have also been used for deep space robot probes on a "grand tour" mission.  When the economy of Hohmann transfer orbits was demonstrated, it mitigated against developing heavy-lift and instead concentrating on miniaturizing the payload and ensuring it had the endurance for longer flights.

Von Braun wasn't a supporter of Nova, he was a supporter of EOR. NOVA was *somebody's* fetish, just not his.

they tried to fake a moon landing but that turned out to be really difficult and expensive so they just sent people to the moon and then pretended to fake it.

An auction of space memorabilia was recently completed, and the piece that gave the biggest laugh was  an item signed by Buzz Aldrin from the Apollo 11 mission.  On it,
he had written:

"Apollo Eleven photos by Buzz Aldrin... and crew"

The ballz on dat guy :-)
