I'm sorry what? Having a real girlfriend and an anime girlfriend at the same time? Look, maybe I'm old fashioned or maybe I'm just a gentleman, but I would never under any circumstance cheat on my waifu with some real life woman.

So wait, this is a real thing? Having actual romantic feelings for an anime character? I mean I can understand lusting for a sexually drawn character, or wishing an anime character were real, but full on romantic feelings towards one? I didn't think the kind of person that took things that far would bother trying to get a real girlfriend.

So, your boyfriend has a crush on someone fictional. Is that really a problem? Isn't fictional better than a real piece on the side?

My boyfriend was clean-cut and looked like someone out of a boy band, plus he was really kind and easy-going," she begins. It wasn't long before her opinion of him soured, though. "When I found out he was an anime otaku, I was really shocked. And even worse, he likes video games, and he was always spending time with Nene

I am somewhat unclear on how deep the affections for these anime characters go; one of my former colleagues was a married attorney who kept a doll of edward cullen in her cubicle and although I teased her about it and her husband may have as well I wouldn't consider it a huge issue.

spoiler: He had the ability to bring imaginary objects into the real world.  Including his anime girlfriend.

Which is in itself funny because he wasn't real himself - he was an imagined person created by someone in a coma.  This made him some sort of messianic character similar to how Fry was special because he was his own grandpa.  I forgot the exact details, but I saved you from having to watch Chaos:Head.

"It bugs me that he even likes anime at all," gripes one college student, "and when I saw his collection, I thought about just throwing it all in the trash. I didn't, but he noticed how I felt, and now he's trying to keep it in check."

Look, I'm not really an anime person. I've watched three in the last ten or so years. But if your reaction to your boyfriend/girlfriend's interest in anything is "It bugs me that he/she even likes that" then you are with the wrong person. And when the thing that person is interested in is an entertainment medium and not, for instance, necrophilia or Glenn Beck or something, you are a vapid asshole.

Big anime fans (otaku) are really not seen in a good light in Japan, despite what the western weeabos want to believe. As in, "get thrown out of the house and disowned" if you're an adult who's too into it or video games. That girl, if the quotes are even real, may have been fearing a slippery slope being introduced to the relationship.

Japanese adults are nuts about Disney, though. Not actually WATCHING Disney programs, but buying the chotchkies and hitting the theme parks. Go figure.  :-P

i meant it more in the why would you be worried about a "cartoon girlfriend" kinda way.  cosplay/roleplay are cool, but to actually feel as if a cartoon is competition is silly, and offering real life sex is kind of a surefire plan to get his attention.

No, she's actually pretty cute, but a total internet attention whore and disgusting weeaboo. I think she goes by the name Miss Jinxy or some shiat like that.

Great boobs, a little thick, but she's young, so it's okay. Give her 10 years and I bet she'll be sporting a gunt.

The psycho chick in tenchi muyo does it for me.  Super powerful, drags him along into interesting situations, is obsessive but not in a way that would actually hurt tenchi (one assumes).

Eh, GIS doesn't have sound :)  a couple of, er, odd ones -- and the "blowups", man, that's just wrong -- but super cute.

I got a thing for green or blue eyes, black hair, and boobs.  I imagine if I saw that across the room while single, I'd be knocking people over trying to meet and then after five minutes of conversation:
