Trocadero: frodofraggins: Trocadero: Summoner101: I like and don't like how the show mingles with the books and movies.  I've been watching under the assumption that anyone alive during the movies will survive, but that may not be the case.

Apparently, it's totally not the case, from last week, at least. Mainly, they do not have rights to characters who start in Silence of the Lambs; Agent Starling and James Gumb the two biggies.

The show runner plans on bringing in Clarice so I'm not sure where you heard that.

"Here's the skinny, the suits behind Hannibal are in charge of the rights to Red Dragon, Hannibal and Hannibal Rising and any characters which originate/are unique to those stories BUT Silence of the Lambs is in MGM's hands and this will prove problematic if/when the show reaches a fifth season. Because they can't use Clarice or Buffalo Bill. This means that the Hannibal version of Silence of Lambs can't be called that and none of the characters can be used."

What's more is that MGM is working with Lifetime to develop a series based around Clarice (that apparently can't even mention Hannibal), but that started over two years ago and I haven't heard about any significant movement on it since. I'm personally hoping that that series falls through and MGM works with The DeLaurentiis Company on this.

One minor character from Red Dragon has been axed in the series.

Don't count her out yet. She could still pull herself together.

Mugato: Hannibal is great. I can't believe it's on NBC.

arekthorn: Hannibal is easily one of the top 3 shows on TV in the last few years.  The style, music, writing, & acting is just all so perfect.  How/why is it on NBC?

The violence is beyond cable, but they had a freaking sex scene yesterday. We're an F-bomb and nipple away from HBO, people.

OtherLittleGuy: I want to see Samy and Amy on Hannibal.

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes.  Or, if they were still doing Celebrity Death Match, Amy & Samy vs. Hannibal (tv dude) & Hannibal (Anthony Hopkins version).
