ScouserDuck: Some observations:

1)The super green lines look superimposed like a 1st down line. Bugging the crap out of me.

2)the ref looks like the cox cable guy...which also bugs the crap out of me.

Nerves are gone. Unfortunately, I'm out of alcohol, and I came home instead of stayed at the bar.

7 points from 9 gives us the title if City run the table, if they drop, we just need 6. Going to temporarily be an Everton fan two weeks from now.

Assem Allam's face there looked like he was trying to copy Doctor Evil's pinkie finger face.

Apparently I've been drinking too much cause that close up shot revealed he doesn't look at all like the cox guy. I guess I just find it necessary to post worthless/unremarkable shiat onto the internet.

Arsenal jump to the lead out of nowhere. 1-0 via Ramsey. Nice passing move.

Garcia Marquez sacrificed himself for that goal.

Welcome to the soccer thread. Sometimes I look back and am astonished to find  that I've posted 20 or 30 times, almost none of them containing anything of value.

Arsenal is a completely different side with Ramsey. He actually seems to have more direct impact than Ozil.

Well if memory serves, as soon as I lost Ramsey on my fantasy team that was about the same time as Arsenal's downfall.

Next week's going to be pretty awesome. Cardiff-Sunderland and Liverpool-Chelsea.

Princip's Sandwich: That moment of silence was so good I thought they'd cut out the crowd mic. It was that silent.

That does happen occasionally. The cutting out/reduction in level of the mic.

Podolski makes it 2-0. Really good counter. The Arsenal goals have been really impressive.

Chest assist from Ramsey. Didn't he get a head assist last week?

So Stevie, when he said "We go again!", he meant go again with another 3-2 winner that puts his fans in the hospital with heart palpitations.

After several years of losing those games as well as owning a game for 90 minutes only to lose to some fluke of a goal, this is a much welcome change. I'll take the heart attack wins every time.

SmackLT: This season has been pretty awful by the standards set by Ferguson, but even if he had stayed, United wouldn't have repeated their title-winning form this season.

I totally disagree. The standard below Liverpool isn't very good, and he wouldn't have let them win the league. He just wouldn't.

Say United had beaten LFC once this season (as we often did, but not always) and won one of the games in hand (Hull at home is more likely than Everton away), that would put Liverpool on 77 and United on 63. You don't think there's another 15 points out there in is this horrible, miserable, pathetic season that Ferguson would have won?

I sound so f*cking Scouse. Next year ... (we'll finish 5th).

I'm a little conflicted about this. I never want Utd to lose, but I really don't want Europa League football in the summer.

I guess I'm rooting for a Utd win today and then for Everton to win out.

Is that the Z-Cars theme as the players come out? And if so, why?

Z-Cars set on Merseyside.

Moyes record watch today: it's been a couple of decades, apparently, since Everton did the double over Utd.

Don't know much about it. Mostly studio based I'd guess though?

Penalty on Jones. United is shooting themselves in the foot again.

Beeb text feed.

"Just in case David Moyes didn't get the message about how he is regarded at Goodison Park these days, an Everton fan dressed in full Grim Reaper garb is standing right behind the Scot brandishing an imitation scythe. Gone to a lot of trouble to make his point."

"It's all over for The Grim Reaper. Been asked to leave and, in defence of such a menacing figure, he went quietly and politely."

Same old story for Utd. Lots of possession, good passing at times, but very little for the opposing goalkeeper to do.

Morning/afternoon all. Just finished watching the Norwich-Liverpool match on the DVR (tried to get up for the match live, wasn't happening). Sterling was magnificent, our defense wasn't and the Canaries deserved at least a point. Either way, it's 3 points and we're locked into the top 4.

United have no penetration. No passes that could really worry Everton.

And now it's 2-0.

OK, now  that we've all been thoroughly reminded of why Nani doesn't deserve a place in this side, can we please have Januzaj on for the second half?

Yeah, no way in hell I could wake up in time for the Liverpool game. Looks like I just missed our routine "start off strong, then hold on for dear life" game.

Evil Kagawa:

Moyes go crazy at Nani. He say he no been in game!
Kagawa say "Nani no been in game since 2009!" All team laugh. Joke-a-making!

For god's sake, Moyes, stop playing Fletcher and Carrick together. Too slow and predictable, too much sideways.

And stop playing Kagawa out of position. And Jones, for that matter.

For the second half, Moyes should bring on Valencia for Nani, let Kagawa play in the middle close to Mata, and bring on Januzaj for Carrick.

But since this is Moyes we're talking about, he'll probably bring on Fellatio for Fletcher, and then wait for the last ten minutes before throwing Welbeck and Hernandez on in place of the wide players.
