Princip's Sandwich: SmackLT: 689908: Moyes' 50 failings in 50 games

Some of those are legitimate criticisms, but several of them seem sort of repeated (e.g. Fellaini criticism) or hair splitting after the fact. It really comes down to being too conservative, playing not to lose rather than to win. He didn't have a good transfer window last summer, that much is certain. Fellaini still looks like a panic buy after other deals fell through. This season has been pretty awful by the standards set by Ferguson, but even if he had stayed, United wouldn't have repeated their title-winning form this season.

Much more damning are the comments by Martinez and Baines.

Can't even spell one of my surnames.

My banker is improbably still perfect. I don't expect it to stay that way though.

Barcelona's week just got a little more depressing, as Klopp has said he will not leave Dortmund.

2014-04-20 07:52:02 AM
So my dogs just woke me up in the middle of the goddamned night to go out come to find the pool game is already at the half.

Oh, without a doubt. Moyes' mistakes since taking over have been many. They've also been ridiculously magnified, because 1) Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, 2) United won the title last season under arguably their most iconic manager, and 3) Moyes has a different personality than Ferguson's fire, which by comparison makes him look weak under this kind of scrutiny.

He's managing a team of players that (except for Fellaini) are all accustomed to Ferguson's style. Believe it or not, Moyes' win percentage with United is higher than any other United coach except Ferguson (if Wikipedia is to be believed) so far, and there's still lots of room for improvement. Undoubtedly he could have done much better at several points this season. Sadly, he'll be let go before anybody really gets to see what he would have done over time.

Liverpool came flying out of the gate again. Almost 3-0 there.

2014-04-20 08:08:12 AM
All credit to Norwich, they are still trying to get back into this game.

2014-04-20 08:10:23 AM
Norwich has been the more dangerous team for a while now.  Bum getting a little squeaky.

2014-04-20 08:11:18 AM
Another successful play by Martin Shirtpull. How he doesn't get caught I don't know.

2014-04-20 08:11:28 AM
That was shirt pull to the extreme

2014-04-20 08:12:14 AM
My banker is no longer perfect :(

2014-04-20 08:12:24 AM
Surprise.

2014-04-20 08:12:31 AM
And here we go with the Liverpool let-down in the 2nd half

2014-04-20 08:12:46 AM
They were bound to get one with that siege they were laying.

2014-04-20 08:13:57 AM
Norwich are going to pull level at this rate.

2014-04-20 08:14:31 AM
Is Liverpool playing with 10? Jesus.

2014-04-20 08:17:47 AM
You expect Suarez to score from those. Great chance.

2014-04-20 08:17:50 AM
Oh my.  Suarez should've scored there.

2014-04-20 08:19:01 AM
C'mon Liverpool, score another. Both for you and my banker.

2014-04-20 08:19:10 AM
This game has really picked up. Both teams attacking and defending with energy and flair.

I love games like this.

2014-04-20 08:19:51 AM
Dammit, after the stress of the Blue Jackets game last night I was hoping for an easy match today.  My body can't handle drinking this early in the day...

AND STERLING!!!

Princip's Sandwich: C'mon Liverpool, score another. Both for you and my banker.

Ask and ye shall receive. 3-1.

2014-04-20 08:20:07 AM
Great google moogle Sterling.

2014-04-20 08:20:30 AM
Thank you Sterling.  Young player of the year, surely.

2014-04-20 08:20:44 AM
FFS

2014-04-20 08:20:59 AM
Deflected goal. I believe Sterling just punched his ticket to Brazil.

2014-04-20 08:21:06 AM
And that is how you answer a side getting a goal back. Sterling on fire!

2014-04-20 08:21:25 AM
19.  19 farking years old.

2014-04-20 08:21:39 AM
Suarez you fool. You absolute fool. That.

Was.
Rediculous.

2014-04-20 08:22:30 AM
Suarez just showed the healing power of Walverine there.

2014-04-20 08:22:31 AM
That was rather funny. Suarez is moaning in agony on the pitch. Then he sees that Liverpool are breaking forward, so he bolts up and runs.

2014-04-20 08:22:44 AM
Really?  A yellow for THAT?

2014-04-20 08:22:45 AM

I thought it was funny and a bit divey to be sure and then they showed the replay.  Less divey, but still funny

I never thought it was a dive. But for sure highlighted that he was a basis point as injured as he was making out.

2014-04-20 08:25:48 AM
Hey, Ozil's back for Arsenal.

2014-04-20 08:26:52 AM
I'd love it if Suarez got asked about that move after the match. Especially if he tries to play it off as a strategic move. I'd die laughing.

There is a lady behind the corner flag holding a pink piece of paper of her face deliberately. Skipping work? Affair? British witness protection?

The wife of a prominent Manchester United member?

I can tell by her fingers she's not hot. Footballers wives are generally hot.

Pretty sure Sterling's pace has been the cause of 2 or 3 yellows now for Norwich.  MotM for sure unless something crazy happens.

2014-04-20 08:32:29 AM
-That guy there just got a yellow.
-Howson?
-I don't know...probably by wrapping his arms completely around the guy while he tried to play the ball.

/sorry...I'll go get coffee #1 now.

Damn you Snodgrass. 3-2.

2014-04-20 08:35:44 AM
Well, it's getting real.

2014-04-20 08:35:47 AM
Oh boy...

2014-04-20 08:35:57 AM
Norwich is not going away.

2014-04-20 08:36:04 AM
Yes.

One more

Just one more

2014-04-20 08:36:04 AM
Now I need Suarez to score again.
