Langston: Torres was a big pile of nothing and Borini scored the winning goal. If Liverpool beats Norwich tomorrow and Everton beat Manchester United, the city could conceivably run out of beer.

Now you're just talking rubbish. A British city running out of beer? Come on, man.

/What do Torres and The Sun have in common?
//They're both flaming piles of shiat.

Mourinho has nothing to say about Dean Missing Ramires's red card elbow?  Shocking.

Hey now, he did have neat bicycle kick attempt on goal. Sure, it cleared the top of the crossbar by at least 10 feet but it was flashy!

Yahoo Sports picked that as the picture for their article on the match. It made me laugh.

You assume City will not choke against Worst Brom, Palace, Everton, Villa, and West Ham. That's a farking tall order for a side that was 3 minutes from losing to the side that just cut Chelsea down.

To elaborate, two more Liverpool wins put them at:

Title-2pts if City draw against either WBA or Palace and win the other
Title-1pt if City win one and lose the other
Champions if City can't win either of those.

A point worth noting: Crystal Palace's wins this week have guaranteed them safety. They have 43 points and the highest possible maximum for any of the bottom 3 is 41 (Sunderland).

Pulis, as much as people don't like his brand of football, has done what many thought impossible and is a reasonable shout for manager of the year. It's Rodgers for me personally, but I'm biased :)

It makes sense to me. While it isn't as accurate a game reflection as Borini celebrating, from a visual standpoint there isn't much that beats a bicycle kick, even one that missed.

This would require Newcastle to give a shiat about playing well, which they stopped doing when Cabaye went to PSG.

Moyes' 50 failings in 50 games

Wilfried Zaha wanders from the path to greatness

Evra nominates Suarez for POTY. Again.

Manchester United's David Moyes must face down the demonising at Everton

Leighton Baines: "The two managers are totally different, in every way. They both have things they are really good at but with the current manager, he's ultra-positive. He takes the positive from every single scenario. That's been the big thing for me: the difference in the style of play, committing to that and not feeling like we have to adapt to the opposition. The new manager has that confidence and belief in himself, in his own blueprint. And then in us. He tells us we're not going to change, we're just going to improve constantly and keep practising until we get to the level where we want to be. Stick to it, don't compromise, get better at it."

Roberto Martinez: 'United's squad is bigger and better than people are trying to make out.'
'An ageing squad if you win becomes an experienced squad with knowhow. If you lose, it becomes the players have no legs. It's something in between those extremes.
'You look at Chelsea, title contenders, but squad-wise worse than United.'

Toast with golden syrup. Fresh orange juice.

Now it is nearly lunchtime.

Norwich defense giving Sterling far too much room on the ball already.

2014-04-20 07:06:15 AM
The sad thing is our defence has been mostly solid this year. The goals we leak have mostly been great shots from outside the area.

Sterling!!!

I got here just in time for Liverpool to do what they do. Heck of a shot by Sterling.

Also, I love how Sterling scored, and instead of running toward the corner flag to celebrate, he went straight over to Rodgers to give him a hug.

Yeah, somehow dragged myself outta bed for this one. Hockey playoffs making these early matches tough.

Someone has to represent the Reds

Suarez gets the expected goal and it's 2-0. I obviously was pessimistic on their goal output here. 2-0 banker.

Great save by Ruddy

Liverpool is just too much for them today. The ball control, passing and movement would be hard for any defense, and Liverpool really wants those three points today.

It looks like I have the early stream today.

I'd be surprised if Liverpool managed to keep a clean sheet today. Norwich with a real opportunity there.

2014-04-20 07:19:45 AM
Not entirely sure how Norwich didn't get one back there.

Surely Sterling has to go to Brazil in place of Welbeck?

You need to save some liver function for the title-clincher.

689908: Moyes' 50 failings in 50 games

Some of those are legitimate criticisms, but several of them seem sort of repeated (e.g. Fellaini criticism) or hair splitting after the fact. It really comes down to being too conservative, playing not to lose rather than to win. He didn't have a good transfer window last summer, that much is certain. Fellaini still looks like a panic buy after other deals fell through. This season has been pretty awful by the standards set by Ferguson, but even if he had stayed, United wouldn't have repeated their title-winning form this season.

Much more damning are the comments by Matinez and Baines.
