Chris Foy apparently took a ball to the face at St James' Park

Ref Chris Foy got hit in the head by a Collocinni clearance. Must be dazed.

Retsam: Looks like West Ham vs Crystal Palace is the best looking 10am game. What are you going to be watching?

Agreed. Palace is my second-favorite team for no good reason whatsoever.

Retsam: Did Luke Shaw sign a contract extension yet or is he gone at season end?

Lots of speculation about him. Supposedly Real are interested, since Coentrao is going to Monaco after this season.

I'm watching West Ham/Palace until something interesting happens in another game.

Nathanjr cruises into the top spot with four rounds to go.

My calm, balanced reaction?

encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com

At the bottom, cameroncrazy1984's corpse lets out one last whisper of gas. Cognitive_Displaysia makes it through the 600 point barrier and it's close at the top of Page 2 with Gonz_Hotspur, Rev.K and MNMarkPW all within 25 points.

LucklessWonder and The_Envoy came joint third with 115s, latter accreting, former with a +90 from Everton squeaking past Mackems. Nathanjr in second place with 125, three perfects outweighing a busted banker. Top score of the round belongs to  Langston, with only 3 of 11 results wrong and a very cheeky +45 from CP Vs Villa.

Kevinatilusa and StRalphtheLiar zenned.

On the slide, goomba lost 5, cameroncrazy1984 auto-ed to -20 but krej55 had one perfect standing out amidst a terrible performance otherwise to give a -40.

As predicted last week - one of the few I got right this round alas - we had a banker massacre with both CP and Mackems not performing as advertised. Presidency of the BB club falls 6 spots to Stimied.

I went for a draw.

Ref substitution at St. James Park. I can't say I've seen that before.

Happens a couple of times a season. Hamstring usually.

I know he's kind of an odious little coont, but Suarez had to be EPL player of the season, right?

Barring another snack on Ivanovic, I'd think so.

BONY!

20 goals in all competitions for Bony this season.

This is a very happy couple of minutes. Swansea draw level and Stoke put Cardiff in further misery.

In the old days, before there was a fourth official, they occasionally had to appeal to the crowd for a replacement credentialed official. It's surprising how often there was one.

Oh damn. The ref at St James now is Anthony Taylor. I expect 4+ yellows in the second half.

They probably should have done that at Newcastle.  The 4th official is that guy who messed up a couple penalty calls last week (or maybe two weeks ago).

He's the one who confused Gibbs and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

I must've missed something. Did Pardew get sent to the stands?

Haha, ftom BBC:

Tottenham's Sandro tweets: "Good morning Guys, just to let you know that i'm not injured ! Hope that we can win the game today. "

BBC asks Tim Sherwood about that after the game, Sherwood says: "He's entitled to do what he wants. He's right, he's not injured. He's not good enough to play in my team at the moment... "

Cardiff get their own penalty and it's even...

Come on Stoke.

or not, I guess

Davies got lucky there. He was following the Martin Shirtpull Textbook.

Goal Palace.

There's a lot to not like about Tim Sherwood. His honesty is not on that list.

Newcastle shelling Swansea. Hopefully they can hold on.

I'm realizing this morning that mediocre football is not my cup of tea 1st thing in the morning. I'm officially dragging here.

Also, I see that the Norwich-Liverpool match starts at 4am my time tomorrow. Chances of me being awake for that - pretty much nil.

2014-04-19 11:42:38 AM
Cardiff has blown a lot of chances today. If they only manage a point today they have nobody to blame but themselves.

2014-04-19 11:48:58 AM
I think Newcastle has another goal in them. Cardiff, who knows. They look tired and sloppy.

Happy for Swans, sad for my predictions today

Huge relief for Swansea and a +15 for me on that one.

2014-04-19 11:56:42 AM
1-1 a fair result for Cardiff and Stoke, I think.  Credit where it's due though:  Howard Webb was fantastic in that game. We give refs a hard time when they suck.  But he got every big decision right and calmed things down very well when the handbags started flying.

2014-04-19 11:56:50 AM
+50 on Spurs (w/ bonus), -40 on the others. Sigh...

I hate bitaching about fantasy sports, but I have to vent here...

My fantasy EPL team had 6 players on it either likely or definitely out due to injury or suspension this week. So I made two transfers (incurring a points penalty) just so I had some players.

Then I find out just now that Cech is out today due to a virus and he's my keeper. WTF!?

It's always looked to me like the roof at the St. James was designed with the expectation that the sun would never shine in Newcastle.  It's very hard to  see with all the shadows.
