Almond Joy has some pretty badass egg-shaped coconut candies out this year, too. I'm excited for Easter candy clearance. :)

I buy one Cadbury egg each Easter season. I like them enough to want one, but one is plenty.

rwdavis: Dragonflew: Were they better years ago or did I just grow up? I remember them being so awesome when I was a kid, now they're so sweet that they burn my throat.

They were better years ago. At least in the US they were. Cadbury had two factories making the eggs years ago, then they got bought out and closed the one that normally supplies the US. The other factory has a different filling recipe which is much worse.

That explains a lot.  I log my food on myfitnesspal.com which has a large database of all sorts of foods, going back many years.  I noticed that the cadbury eggs have gotten smaller.  They used to be 39g, now they are 34g.

Those things are ridiculously overpriced and not all that good.  It's like $2.50 for 2 of those creamy sugar balls with mediocre chocolate on the outside.

Which is why you wait until after Easter and get them for 50 cents.

No idea where you are shopping that they are that price.  Everywhere I see singles they are either 69 or 79 cents.  Four packs are usually just under $3, some places have them at that price with a bonus 5th egg.  And yes, I did recently buy a 5 pack and eat all of them within 15 minutes.  Also have killed off my fair share of Mini Eggs over the last few weeks.

/needs to go on a diet once Easter is over and done with.

I'll take the Reese's Easter eggs any day.

Those holiday versions are the absolute perfect proportions of the chocolate and peanut butter.

I recently bought a Cadbury egg, along with one of those Lindt balls with the chocolate filling inside.

It was interesting to compare them right next to each other. The Lindt ball was so vastly, vastly better than the Cadbury, that I no longer ever feel the need to have the Cadbury egg again.

inglixthemad: Coming on a Bicycle: Cadbury is not good chocolate. I'm sorry that a whole lot of people have access to only that shiate.

Fazer. Cadbury is still better than what most of Hershey tries to pass off.

Fun fact: Hershey has the license to manufacture Cadbury products in the US. So. the US version of the Cadbury egg is indeed a Hershey product.

30 million of them to wind up wherever it is that wild cadbury roam when they're not brought to slaughter.  I wouldn't buy them at 95 percent off

Yeah, I just looked it up on Wikipedia. That must be why the quality of the chocolate doesn't seem to be up to par - not that it needs to be, with such sweet filling. They also decreased the size of the eggs slightly in 2006.

Those things are most vile..The chocolate tastes like wax, and the inside is that semi-liquid evil...BLECH!!..
Ditto that for Peeps..Sugar infused Styrofoam..ICKY..

There's also the Halloween version, the Screme Egg. It's just as rich and disgusting, but with green yolk.
