The Spurs will dispatch them relatively easily in six.

Hey they will go as far as Dwight can take them. I'd like them in a series against the Spurs but not against OKC or the Clippers. The West is tough.

They are provably the 4th best team in the west. Unfortunately for them they are also the 4th best team in the league. Twenty years from now people will think the Nets were actually a good team because they made the ECF

Houston may not get past Portland.  I say that as a Spurs fan that is nervous about Houston in the second round. With that said, after being a Spurs fan since the ABA days, the Spurs have a history of folding when they have the best record in the west or in the NBA.  But the last losses to Houston and to OKC basically meant nothing to the Spurs and the Spurs were resting players.  Also, i lived in Houston during their "Twoston" championships and they have some good fans. And I would prefer the Rockets after the Spurs, if it can't be the Spurs.  Of course that will change if they beat the Spurs in round two.

Houston can´t beat San Antonio for sure.

Howard can´t pass, can´t shoot, and has limited post moves.  Harden is a chucker who doesn´t play in a scheme.

The Spurs are a machine.

Houston would be a lot better if they had any plus perimeter defenders besides a gimpy Patrick Beverly. I don't forsee things working out well for them against the San Antonio Borg.

For sure?

A regular season sweep means absolutely nothing?  Yea, Houston has beat the Spurs four times with this lineup.  The Spurs need to be worrying about the Rockets.

If people look back at the Nets in the ECF in 20 years as a good team it'll be because they beat LeBron to get there. Not just because they made it.

Wasabi and Soy Sauce: A regular season sweep means absolutely nothing?

Exactly. It means nothing at all.

I didn't watch a whole lot of Rocket games this year, but in a couple of the games I watched I noticed a bad trend for them. When playing half-court offense near the end of games they did not run good plays. Lots of iso play and bad shots. That does not bode well for playoff basketball. I could see the Spurs doing better in those situations than the Rockets.

I love me some Spurs as long as they aren't playing Houston, and even then I still love them, but in my perfect world Houston over San Antonio in 7 then get your brooms out for the finals.

/Clutch City
//Go Spurs Go
///Fark the Mavs and especially the Eastern Conference

Spurs v. Pacers will be the final. There is no other possible outcome.

On the court I agree, but I'm sure the league and thus referees would seriously be concerned about ratings.  The Association wouldn't allow two "small market teams" to play in the finals.

Yeah.  They are still trying to figure out how to make it a Lakers/Celtics series.   Wait they did.  The lottery. Sucks that it's going to be a bad lottery.

Yea subs, you're a dumbass. No Houston fan has thought that in the last 20 years. Maybe when they had Yao and Mcgrady and signed Artest. But that's about it.

Playoffs thread?

The Nets "superstars" are all past their prime, but that team does have a lot of quality depth. Pierce was able to win them a game today; tomorrow it could be Somebody else. I think they'll actually make quick work of the Raptors, and they did go undefeated against the Heat this year....

Before today I was feeling the Nets and probably OKC in the Finals.  Still feeling that.

Yeah, the Pacers sure have looked like a championship team following the Evan Turner trade.

/Oh, and Houston isn't getting out of the first round
