Dressing down and empty chair was the highlight of the RNC.  This guy should go far in the party.

His speech was so poorly written it almost sounded like he was happy to reduce education funding.  I had to play it back to be certain.

It's the standard debate tactic for republicans.

I'm voting for the guy who dressed up like an outdoorsy country type and contemptuously backhanded an uppity black doll off its pedestal and back into the field where it belongs.

Pussy. He should have shot the Obobblehead. I thought GOP campaign ads with candidates shooting things were all the rage?

Okay, maybe I've just got selective memory, but back in 2004 and 2008, did Democrats run ads against Bush in a similar way? Bush was reviled among Democrats, but I don't recall ads attacking him in effigy. It really seems like they are running against Obama, the man, as opposed to the policy. They hate him not necessarily what he's done.

Is that just me?

Nope.

They hate him.

A lot of the policy they used to love and support.

He grabbed just 4.7 percent in a February survey of the field by Harper Polling

Well he may as well. He needs to pull out all of the stops. Surprised he didn't just go straight to lynching the doll to get a certain voter bloc on his side.

If I lived in Nebraska, I would vote for him.  Of course, if I lived in Nebraska, I'd only have a double digit IQ I'd have fewer teeth than I had illegitimate children with my sisters and mother.  Pretty much why I don't live in Nebraska.

Violence is definitely the trend but shooting an effigy could be construed as a threat to the president. These things will multiply the closer we get to November.

Next up: explosives.

When nobody is buying your message resort to violence. To a certain segment words won't move them, but your acceptance of violence towards the thing they hate will bring them to your side.

This is begging for a response from the Secret Service.

Not saying that he should get one, but as in this guy's praying that he can claim mean old Obama sent his goons to talk to him. Hell, I'm guessing he'll make up a story just to play the "Obama's afraid of me" card if they don't.

The GOP operates in cults of personality.  Their guys are God.  The other side's guys are Satan.

does anyone else remember that ad that showed the kids working in factories to pay off the cost of the iraq war? i remember conservatives losing their minds over it, yet it turned out that the war didnt pay for itself...

Yes, keep telling locals how you fought to deny them insurance that would be free to your state funded by the federal government. Seniors are starting to figure out that it benefits them. Please push this line as far as you can!!

They'll probably be praising "Obamacare" (which they won't call it), and say the mandate was their idea from the very start (which they go hoarse denying these days)

They way the deny racism on the right by pointing out that Lincoln was a Republican.

I can't wait for President Clinton to appoint Obama to the Supreme Court and Biden as UN Ambassador. With a bonus of maybe appointing former President Clinton as Secretary of State.

I want to see ALL the heads asplode.

Right? Carharts take at least 6 months of work in before they even start to look right.

Heh... my latest Carhartt coat is three years old and I'm pretty sure it's breaking *me* in. In my youth I wore Carhartts whenever I thought there would be a mosh pit involved, I'm just mean that way.

Yet I'm still pretty sure I'd look more relaxed in jeans and a carhartt 5 minutes old than most politicians would.

I watched the ad. I like the implicit assumption that increasing medicaid money will diminish money for education.

If only there was a way to increase the total pie rather than debating over how big of a slice something gets.

his ad says "the last thing Nebraska needs is more Obamacare"

what in the world does that even mean? Less people signing up for private insurance? Less poor people getting insurance?

"Blowing a hole in our budget, and reducing funding for education."

Because if there's one thing Republicans make a priority of, it's funding education.  Especially those who promise to "hold the line on spending" if elected.
