My brother adopted a newborn baby. Mother was a druggy never saw it. 2 years later they adopt a 6 year old who decided he didn't like his toddler brother and held a pillow to his face, and stabbed the dog with scissors. (mini poodle if anyone cares) They had to give him right the fark back.

And if I give birth to a kid who turns out to be a murdering psychopath, do I get to give him right the fark back?  No.

Adoption is a BIG deal. When you sign those papers, you become the parent. Period. End of story. No backsies. No lemon law. No bullshiat.  You are committing to PARENT THAT CHILD, metaphorical warts and all.

Maybe the state withheld information from them or something, and you might have a lawsuit on your hands, but you don't just get to say "woops, our bad, when we said we wanted to be his parents we didn't REALLY mean it.  We don't want a kid with ISSUES."

This seems like a pretty good idea.

When I got a shelter dog, I had to sign a little statement to the effect that I wouldn't transfer the dog to a new owner, nor euthanize it without their permission.  I doubt it was legally enforceable, but the crazy pet lady at the rescue service seemed to mean well.

If you want free labor for your farm you dont adopt, you become a foster family. Then your ride those little sheeits for a season and send em back when you're done. Add some federal subsidies and you're well on your way to becoming a member of congress.

That story doesn't put your brother and his partner in a good light either.

A friend of a friend had adopted a child in Wisconsin, and was forced to return it because the biological mother changed her mind 3 weeks later. Apparently there is a one-month grace period for that. It's bullshiat if that law stands while this one is passed.

I'd like to return my son. He's defective.

Do you have a receipt, sir?

No.

Did you get him from us?

No. I made him myself. I was drunk.

I'm sorry, sir, but to return a child you have to get him or her from us and have a receipt to prove it or we can't take them. Try Child Welfare on the Third Floor.

How about an abortion?

Sir, the child is sixteen. It's too late for an abortion.

He's got a fake ID.

We can't do an abortion. We are an adoption agency. We don't destroy the stock that doesn't move.

Who does that?

That would be the city pound. But they don't take humans. It's household pets only.

Oh, well. I guess it's politics for you, son.

Can I be President, Dad?

Sure. Sure, why not? When the Republicans take 97% of the African Lesbian Muslim vote, you can be President.

Ur, Mr. Paul?

Yes?

Your son dropped his fake ID.

Thanks.

(What kind of dumbass name is Rand?)

It's short for Kreugerrand, if you must know.

Oops! Sorry, sir.

I get that a lot. Mistakes were made.

I thought you could return them as long as you hadn't worn them outside?

"With virtually no oversight, children could literally be traded from home to home. In Wisconsin, that is now against the law,"

They're shutting down free markets and expanding government. Now I'll have to buy children from dealers in Texas.
