What a contrast... physical but (mostly) clean hockey in Wings/Bruins, and a goonfest on both sides in Anaheim.

GO DUCKS!

And suck it, Bruins.

On the whole I liked Wed's 1st period better than this one although I must admit that this one was quite entertaining.

LesserEvil: Over_Zealously_Apathetic: I will say, Boston fans, Howard hasn't played that way all year.

/Damn glad he stole this game

I was expecting Howard to steal Game 2, but I think the Red Wings have cracked Rask's playoff mindset with that late goal, particularly as far out as Datsyuk scored it. Game 2 will have the Wings scoring more goals than the Bruins (Nyquist and Franzen get hot), while the Bruins will face the Red Wings at the Joe in Game 3, winless, and playing very, very frustrated and desperate.

They "cracked Rask's playoff mindset" with one goal? What is Rask's playoff mindset and how come better teams like last year's Penguins couldn't "crack" it?

At least one of the good guys won. Well, relative to the Bruins anyway.

Oh man, I just watched 10 minutes of Red Sox postgame before I realized NESN had switched over to baseball while I could have been watching another playoff hockey game.

Because this is the Red Wings, not the Penguins. Now granted, this was Datsyuk... but it was a wrist shot just inside the blue line, the kind of shot every goalie wants back, and it happened late in the game.

I said earlier in the week that Bergman clearly hates the Bruins worse than the Red Wings, hence he had it scheduled late so the Wings would be well rested; he also seemed to understand this series would be short.

Not only was it baseball post-game, but it was a game that they lost.

The Celtics had a home "game" on Wednesday, and they needed ample time to put the Predetermined Thugball stage away for the year.

I am mystified by how the Wings were better rested than the Bruins considering they both last played on Sunday.

I asked you two questions. What is Rask's playoff mindset? And why couldn't a superior team like the 2013 Penguins crack it? If you answer only one of these questions make it the first one.

And no, this is not an answer. A goal that gets by a goalie that he wishes he had back says nothing about a mindset.

I've got a good buzz. I think I might have been typing out a thing on another forum and I looked up and saw Lackey talking about his pitching and realized that the Bruins post-game crew was no longer on the screen.

That's what I just saw, guess I'm remembering it wrong. Made more sense in my mind, thought they'd do philly/pens and boston/montreal. I shouldn't complain, at least there's hockey commercials out there in the US.

Misremembering...always was Boston Philly.

Or maybe they recorded two and you're closer to west PA.

I kind of want to watch this game, but I also have been trying to finish off the Swiss Embassy on Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

It's rare that I can stay up as late as I want to do it, but it's much harder when I have a good buzz going on.

I know, right? Not gonna work, though. I've spent two hours trying to get through wave 11-15.
