I realize they're somewhere between twee and smarmy but in spite of that I enjoy the end product.

I agree with gorgeous... kind of kooky... but I can still remember those Christmas Commercials they did around 2012 for... was it Hyundai...??? I thought they were pretty cool....

That was an abomination.

God damn, that was bad. Stop whining and try singing for a change.

I hate to be one of the haters, but that just didn't feel right at all. It seemed off, no hook... and I hate to use this word, but I think it is very appropriate: Soulless.

They need to stay away from some material, obviously.

Crackers should never do the black man music.

Vacuous and lifeless, even if it has much technical merit.

And here I was wondering today...whatever happened to Pomplamoose.

I don't think Mr Brown would be that impressed.

Reminded me of The Flying Lizards, another band that was known for their sardonic soulless covers.

She is easy on the eyes though.

I like her voice, but she needs to learn to breathe properly for singing.

Soul Taker?

Till she gets naked (and I get to see her naked), her music sucks.  Stop ruining the great stuff and stick to Yugo commercials.

TOGTFO!

Is this the thread where I say I liked them before they were cool, or is it the thread where I say liking them before they were cool isn't cool?

Wow, that was soul-less.

All the 'soul-less' comments are missing the point (I bet you are the same people who complain about Dylan's voice, too).

It is a re-imagining of the song, not a freaking cover version.

And while I clicked on the link expecting to hate it I didn't.

It's a nice (like sugar and spice) twist on song that has been played to point of being boring

And I like James Brown. A lot.

So good for them for pushing the boundaries.

+1.

I remember this name from a while back, but cannot recall the song that got them so much attention. Didn't see it in their video list.
