so i guess sending american jobs overseas over the last 30 years for cheap labor and to feed the starving stockholders does have its downsides...

A significant portion of barbie profits are the collectors. They need to amp up their reproductions of 50s and 60s outfits, and start offering them as standalone. Especially the rarer ones, they would make money hand over fist.
