taurusowner: LordZorch: Logical outcome of cheap, reliable, birth control is that people that don't want kids won't have them. Also, keep you smelly little disease & snot factories to yourself - the world is not your babysitter...Watch that number drop A LOT more when a non surgical/non condom form of birth control is invented for men. I'd bet that a healthy percentage of children born both inside and out of marriage is due to females giving the impression they're on birth control and either legitimately forgetting/messing up or deliberately deceiving the male. The line for a male birth control pill/shot is gonna be miles long.
Admiral_Ritt: Ladies, It's a real turn off for you to be a keeper of a Dog. A cat not so much.It makes some of us think you have high emotional nurturing needs.and for the larger dogs, we think you are F**ing them.
mrEdude: anyone who would have a kid now is a selfish deluded mofo.the world is not going to get 'better'.
sunnewswebguy: Hey, don't want kids...don't have them. Mine are great, healthy, well-behaved....it's all good.In a generation's time, my philosophy, outlook, political leanings, and genetics will carry over into the future. You'll only leave a granite monument, or an ash filled urn. To each his own.

Angela Lansbury's Merkin: Just more proof I was born a decade too soon. Biggest problem I had when dating (other than my hideous looks and poor social skills) was finding a woman who would even entertain the idea of not having kids. Now, they are everywhere. What's scary are the women who start talking about names for the children on your second date. They aren't looking for a husband, they are looking for a sperm donor and a paycheck.

alpacainabox: As a woman that lives alone with her pug and has no plans for children.. am I the only person that doesn't feel like it fills a "child-sized" hole? I've had dogs all my life and it just feels comfortable to come home to one/take care of one. Dogs aren't children; they are animals and should be treated like one. My pug is crate trained and gets plenty of walks and doggy day care once a week, since I work/go to school full time. If you begin to let your dog interfere with your social/love life, then you're really not treating it like a dog anymore.
Foxxinnia: Same thing went down in Japan. Truly they are showing us the beginning of the end of human society.
Crudbucket: I just got a dog and I am not a lady.
bark_atda_moon: Unfortunately it isn't socially acceptable to carry a child around in your purse.
