So, when I first got married, my father in law taught me the following Easter greeting, in the Russian Orthodox tradition. " Cristos Vosgrese!" Respond, " Voyestinue Vosgres!" We say this three times in a call and response sequence. It means, " Christ is risen" and " Yes, he is Risen" my bro in law tells me that my Father in law no longer remembers this..Father in law is 89.

I haz a sad. Every Easter we would make this prayer, in person, or on the phone. We did it last yr. But it seems we will not be doing it this year. :(

I'm sorry. I have very conflicting feelings about this holiday but they have nothing to do with your FiL and his troubles.

Thanks. It is very hard for me, I like my Father in Law very much. He is now 2 hrs away. I was never happy with that arrangement. And I do not think he gets the care he could have gotten here. And my son misses him.

Yes, Simba on Easter Sunday late afternoon 2010. Plus my Dad had a stroke on Easter Sunday 2012. I have a couple other issues with this 'holiday' as well.

Well, the good thing about the medication changes and adjustments that are making me so loopy - I have slept enough off and on since the change that when I am awake, I am full of energy. I finished my laundry - it's even all put away in the right places!, taught Gogh how to get to the treats inside his new toy and played with him for a while, made myself two small tacos and eated them, did my nighttime skin care ritual, got a few things listed on an auction site, went outside and visited Sir Earl the Grey of Kitty and gave him skritches, tidied up the kitchen and now I'm going to make myself a tiny little ice cream with fruit and chocolate syrup and whipped cream! All that only took me five hours, too! woo-hoo! I totally deserve that ice cream, don't I? Yes. Yes I do. Then I'm taking another nap, because I am tired.

SeikaArashi: When I hop on computer I'll go back and read the thread. Mobile can be a pain. @.@

Got some sad news to report. My almost 18 year old cat, Mallow, passed away on Monday. I'm still pretty torn about it, not only because I have lost my child that's been with me since I was 10, but also because I felt like I killed him. :(

I had given all of the cats a bath on Sunday but Mallow acted pretty weird after his... As far as I know he seemed fine before I gave him a bath (but now I think about it... Last Saturday I gave him the option to go outside for a bit (with my supervision of course) and he didn't budge from his resting spot... Which should've struck me as odd there) but he still ate his wet food just fine. The more the night went on, the more lethargic he seemed to get. I pretty much had him glued to my side the entire night before I put him downstairs on a blanket (that way he had easier access to the litter box). Woke up the next morning and he was at his place at the bottom of the steps where he waits for me to wake up, but... He was gone. :( I was torn. Everyone had told me I didn't kill him but it feels like I did...

Today's my birthday too (28 woo) but its hard to celebrate it when the thought of Mallow gone is still in my mind.

(((hugs))) I'm sorry that you're going through this. Sending comfort.

Well, I'd better get snuggled in for the night.

Got to go help Mom clean house for the Easter meal. Not sure whether to call it lunch or dinner as it's at 3.

Dunch? Linner? Meh.

Going to be going through some changes and shiat is finally getting real.

1. Moving everybody in all departments into one building. We get to go into hushed library mode. Our group is loud. This will be very interesting.

2. Going to be doing a certain (don't worry, I won't get into it) medical procedure either this or next year to get rid of a certain nagging problem I've had for years. Just had a biopsy on Friday and that hurt like a fecker. Just going through the loops now so that insurance doesn't think I'm milking the system. Riiight. Spoiler: I'm okay. It's nothing life threatening, just a royal pain in the arse. It's just that now it's getting real. We've gone from talking about it to doing tests and stuff to make it happen. I guess there's really no way to prepare for stuff like this. Biopsy site still throbs a little.

And to make up for all the crap I just typed, here's a kiss from Daisy Mae.

Happy Easter, Everyone..!!!   Hope y'all have a wunnerfull day with family and chocolate bunnies and jellybeans and colored eggs and Peeps and Cadbury creme eggs and plastic grass and lilys and butter lambs (right Holiday, ne..?) and faith and love and everything that Easter means..personally and commercially.. to you..!  :D

(..and *don't* ferget to feed the cat(s)..  They'll find and consume/destroy all yer gathered treats, if you do (trust me)..and, oh, the joy of furballs after they've eaten all manner of colored grass..!)..

That said, I've blown another Caturday..my established MO..  >.<

Had to work a rough 'Holiday Shut-Down' sched, the past couple'o'few days and has sucked up all my time and energy..  Yesterday (Sat), I worked 00:01 - 08:00..then back in at 16:00 - 00:00..16 hours outt'a 24..but it gets worse..  ;)  I also worked 00:01am - 08:00 and 20:00 - 00:00 on Fri..  So, from the time I got up on Thurs (20:00 - 00:00 start of Thurs/Fri overnite shift) at 18:00 until the time I left work at 00:01 t'day (Sun), I have worked 32 of 54 hours..+5 total hours drive time to-and-from..as well as things needed doing at home, errands run going to-and-from work..  I've had about 8 hours total sleep across the range..add 4.5 more hours awake to that time, as I'm still up..and prolly will be fer sometime yet t'come..still want to eat, some things to do..no family nearby to do the Easter-thing with, so will be sleeping sometime during/thru the day..

So, there's the reason fer my absence..good news tho', this change-up starts the move of my schedule fer the upcoming month from weekend nights to weekdays..  After next weekend (which will not be *nearly* so grueling), I'll be free fer a month of Caturdays..!  The only unfortunate thing here is my TF expires just after next weekend..  Need to 'member to re-up afore the following..

That said, I no remember iff'n I ever said anthing along these line on any prev Caturday threads where I was a little more present, this month past but..  I got new meds back mid-week..  And, by 'new,' I mean it's prolly been 10+ years since I've been able to fill a prescription and these (at least one of them) are most needed..  Did not start taking them then, because of upcoming hell-week at work..  Think I'mma gunna begin this morn..  Got five solid days off..good time to begin and see the effects..  One I will take daily, regardless..the other I can sort'a use as an "as needed" but will be able to begin developing some sort'a schedule fer 'em, which will be better..

Alright, I'm just off heavy workload..on short sleep (part o'the problem) and low food intake ('nother part o'the problem) and exhausted, trying to stay up longer and get stuffs done..  Also, I'm a FARKer.  Popped open the first beer within 2 min o'walkin' in the door, when I got home..  I settle in, get things arranged, come to the decision and pull out the meds and assorted documentation..  (I *do* have a long-term history with one of them..but that was 25+ years ago..was told I'd need to be on it fer life..yeah, that worked out soooo well..  :/  )..  My *main* concern..?  Alcohol interaction, of course..!

Med#1 - Sleeping aid for severe sleep disruption - "Alcohol may intensify drowsiness"     -     GOOD!!!
Med#2 - For chronic/genetic depression - "If you drink frequently and suddenly stop, you increase the risk of adverse side-effects"     -     GOOD!!!

Apparently, my Doc knows me well..heh..  So, such concerns mollified, the experiment shall begin just afore I head off to bed this morn..whenever that may be..  Possibilities I anticipate include *VERY* interesting dreams, sleeping fer 20+ hours and, for some strange reason..sleepwalking..  Have never done that afore..but it just jumped into my mind up there with the other leaders..  Odd..

Until I finally hit the sheets, I'll be gettin' things done up here in m'corner o'the house and catching slowly up on the thread..hope t'be here later this eve and/or a significant chunk o'Mon..  Wish me luck and you all have the best of Holidays..!!

Will leave you with an image of my current greatest fear..  *shudder*    :D

Real Women Drink Akvavit: Don't you hate it when you wake up in the middle of the night and you're hungry? How does that even happen? What was I doing in my sleep?!?

Makes you wonder, doesn't it?  One morning a couple weeks ago I woke up with one aching buttcheek.  Just the right one.  It felt sore and tired, like just that one half of my ass had been working out at the gym all day, without the rest of me.  It was fine when I went to bed.  I felt like I'd slept normally.  WTF??

Mysteries of the universe!!

img.fark.net

Last night I laid awake in bed for an irritating amount of time wondering why the shiny silvery plating on American coins doesn't meet around the edges.  Then I had a dream that all the fruits & vegetables in the grocery store would fly up in flocks to roost on the walls and ceiling of the store at night when it was closed.

Perhaps the meds adjustment just threw your body off a little?  Hope everything is OK.

Hai! *frantic waving* I had my medicines adjusted and one changed on Purrsday and I am having the interesting dreams. I have done the sleepwalking before, too. My ex used a belt from one of my robes to tether one of my ankles to his so it would wake him up if I started wandering off in my sleep. The obstacle course arrangement did not work on me, because I navigated through it perfectly. Then I'd start baking or cooking dinner - in my sleep. We were afraid I'd burn the house down, not leave it. I don't know why I started sleepwalking in the first place, but I also seem to have stopped. I haven't done that in years even with the medications.

I have never been jealous of another person's weird dreams before just now. lol! That sounds so cool!

It probably is just the medication. The meds that were adjusted were for the muscle spasms and pain, which have really gotten out of hand lately. The trippy dreams and tiredness (that isn't related to just being ill) are definitely from those. The waking up hungry at 11:30 at night and not being able to go back to sleep - bah! I hope it's not the medication or we'll have to change them again.

When we were teenagers, my sister had a dream she was attacked by a dog and got bit on her right cheek. She woke up fighting the dream dog and it woke up the whole house. I kid you not, the next morning she had a huge red mark on her cheek. There were obviously no teeth marks or anything, but other than that it looked like she really had been bitten. Never did figure out what she did in her sleep to cause that.

I still haven't eaten and I've been awake for 3 1/2 hours. I'm drinking coffee because hungry as I am, nothing sounds good. Hrrrmph! *pout*

Hopefully your muscle spasms and pain are at least under control now.... nothing like side effects without the actual intended effects!  Hopefully it all sorts itself out soon so you can feel better.  :)
