Meanwhile, we got a snippy note from our postal carrier for parking too close to our mailbox. Rain, sleet, snow or hail, as long as they don't have to get out of the truck.

Actually, as a member of the postal service, I agree with that one. Slightly. Its quite a hassle. We're parking in the middle of the street, put on the parking brake, turn the vehicle off,  turn wheels to curb, close and lock the door, get out, put mail in the box, and get back.  Unlock door, turn vehicle off, ect.

Though, I have a "park and loop route" Well, thats what i carry off of.  Park the car, get out, walk around the block delivering mail, ect.

I got a link to their mobile site. Difficulty: I'm on a desktop. WTF?

// Hi, I'm a browser
// Are you a mobile browser?
// No.
// Okay, here's our mobile page, anyway.
// /And I thought the other way was annoying

Right, you are the special one that gets to park in front of the mailbox.  If every one of the 400-600 houses that letter carrier delivers to was also as special as you, that route would increase by at least an hour.  So in order to not work overtime, you get a "snippy" note and the carrier isn't obligated to deliver your mail if you continue to park in front of the mailbox.  Why can't you walk an extra 10 feet?

I'll bet your dog doesn't bite either.

/Was attacked by two dogs today. Sprayed them both and got a real good kick on one.

My postal service won't deliver in snow or sleet. But neither do UPS or Fedex. I live on a pretty bad hill.

I'm Your Mailman (aka "The Mailman Song")
(Tune - Bye, Bye Blackbird)

Make you happy, make you gay,
That's why I come twice a day
I'm your mailman.

Knock your knockers, ring your bell,
Gee I really think you're swell,
I'm your mailman.

I can come in any kind of weather,
That's because me bag is made of leather.
I don't need no keys or locks,
I can slip in your box,
I'm your mailman.

When I'm walking down the road
Gee, I'd like to drop me load
I'm your mailman.

When I'm walking down the lane
Each one says please come again
I'm your mailman.

Each one says she wants me to deliver
Each one wants as much as I can give her.

So if you're feeling sad and blue
I've got something good for you
I'm your mailman.

/one of my fraternity drinking songs
//good times, good times
