Ljiljana Tomovi?, a herpetologist at the University of Belgrade ...

Tomovi? and colleagues were tagging reptiles on May 14, 2013 ...

Am I missing some kind of character in my browser, or does the Macedonian (or Serbian) language actually use the question mark as a letter? That's gotta be confusing, unless it's like Valley Girl speak where every sentence ends in an upward inflection.

//guessing it's supposed to be something like "Tomovic"

All right, some one fetch the augur. Should we invade Thrace or not?

Yup, that should give me nightmares for a week or so.

A dissection revealed that the snake's visceral organs were missing, or in other words, "the entire volume of its body was occupied by the centipede," the scientists wrote.

Sounds like we've got a "nope" thread to me.

Or Scythia, given the current headlines...

Spiders are scary.  Centipedes are pure evil and the stuff of nightmares.

Cut and paste of her name from a Romanian page: Ljiljana TOMOVIĆ. The "?" on the yahoo page is a font or encoding glitch.

Some of us see "Ljiljana Tomovi?" as her name with a "?" in place of the accented c. It's a font or page encoding issue.

I was playing a lame joke and snuck a "?" at the end of Arkanauts name.

But thanks for the info as to why it is happening.

I've had all sorts of crazy pets, but I had one of those centipedes and it was the only creature that freaked me out enough to not stick my hand in the cage. Pure evil and nastiness.

/never kept anything venomous, but that's because I'm not stupid

I'd blame lack of caffeine but I'm on my third pot of tea. Maybe I need to take up meth.

So basically a snake experienced a scene from Alien.

Now all the other snakes are going to attempt to hunt it down, only to be killed off.
One female snake will finally kill the centipede,
but left stranded & floating out into the ocean by herself on a piece of wood.

She will finally get back to land, only to have to follow a group of aggressive snakes back to that same area.
And in that area, they'll find there are even more centipedes have been found.
And they've killed all the snakes in the area...except for one baby female snake.
The aggressive snakes try to kill the centipedes, but cannot and only end up getting killed themselves.
The original female snake fights off the biggest centipede...rescuing the baby female.
But they are both stranded and back out into the ocean again...on a stick again.

However, the stick lands in a fenced off area, where poisonous snakes are kept...

You know how it goes, it's an old saw...

A 10 foot centipede is one of my worst nightmares. It wouldn't stalk you, or growl and hiss. It'd just clatter up to you with all those legs, smoothly and mechanically, and just start eating you. No aggression, no emotion at all, just the biological drive to feed attached to a giant mobile shredder.

^^^

See that muthafarker right there? See 'em every damn day here in New Mexico. On my floor. In my house. Same color as the tile, so you can walk right through the room and not see it, then come back in 2 seconds later, and there he is just waiting for you to step on him so he can farking sting you right in the big toe.

They are no farking joke. As opposed to a scorpion, these guys latch on with the stingers under their mouth and hold on, injecting venom in bursts. I think the only thing that must hurt more is a rattlesnake bite, but I don't want to find out.

/no match for Argentine fire ants though

Some crazy Macedonian version of Turducken, perhaps?

Except you don't want to know what the final ingredient was.
