Mikey1969: OK, I'm confused here, is it just me, or is this article written by a monkey with a hard on?

Satirical website puts out a joke story

People complain to the Congressman who is tagged in the story

Congressman states that he had nothing to do with the story and point out that PTSD is wildly misunderstood

Article author slams Congressman for "not getting the joke" and issuing a statement

The satirical website's spokesman can't say anything other than to make another quip about how little the Congressman does

And then goes on to make another quip
---------------------------------------------------

So when pissed off people who can't tell satire from real life, start complaining and the Congressman responds, it's the Congressman's fault, and he's not supposed to do anything, or he's opening himself up for ridicule?

Like I said, maybe I'm reading the story wrong, but IMHO, the satirical site should be apologizing(Actually apologizing, not making jokes) for hanging this guy's ass out in the wind, since it doesn't appear that he has done anything wrong.

It IS pretty funny in the context of it all that his name is "Moran", though.

It sounds like the Congressman called the Duffel Bag article hurtful and damaging to veterans.  That is what the Duffel Bag writer was responding to when he said the Congressman didn't get the joke. If the Congressman had just put out a statement saying it was a satire piece that he wasn't involved with then Duffel bag wouldn't have responded to him.

Good people with a good sense of humor.

FTFA: The Duffel Blog spokesman responded in typical fashion, quipping that the congressman "deserves a substantial pay raise for his handling of this incident. $174,000 per year is not nearly enough for the important work he and all members of Congress are not doing." "...It is regrettable that Moran's unpaid interns have been forced to answer phones and emails about his mention in a recent article - the horror," the spokesman told The Hill.
