It'll be interesting to see how many people still want CJ2K this coming up fantasy season.  The Jets RB was a carousel which was pretty annoying as I had to, unfortunately, count/use Bilal Powel quite a bit.  Was way worse than the usual "Shanahanigans".

The Titans had Sonic the Hedgehog. The Jets are just getting Loading Screen.

They are desperate to establish the run to set up the pass.......because that works so well in the current NFL, especially with dubious QB talent (Geno).  I'm calling Mike Vick by game 6, and complete offensive implosion before the halfway point.

They did okay with "ground and pound" in 2009 and 2010, both winning seasons.  They sucked the two years after that when they ran less, because Shonn Greene apparently couldn't perform as well as aging Thomas Jones or aging Ladainian Tomlinson.  Last year they actually ran fairly well -- 6th in total rush yardage, 4.4 YPC -- and Geno's scrambling ability contributed significantly to that result.

Funny you mention Vick coming in the middle of the season, because talk around when he was signed was that he wanted guarantees that he would start.  Don't know if he got them but he's got decent odds to beat out Geno in camp anyway.

Soon, Chris Johnson. Soon the ghost of Tony DiPardo will have his revenge...

Call me crazy. I think the Jets will be decent this year and Johnson is a good pick up for them. He's relatively cheap (haha anyone remember when he was holding out for 10 mil a year? Now he signs a two year deal maybe worth 9...) and he'll be motivated.

He's not a ground pounder but he's a weapon catching screens and swing passes out of the backfield. The defense will still be good. They overachieved last year and I think they could do better this year.

Yeah, I don't love the QB situation or any of the offensive weapons. But they've been successful with mediocre offense in the past. I mean Sanchez got them to two AFCC, is Smith/Vick any worse than that? Either of them is capable of riding the defense to wins.

I'd have to assume Vick will be starting but who knows it's the Jets.

It is CJ2YPC since the big contract subby.

Making that kind of guarantee is a sure sign of a bad franchise. Maybe that's something that Tannenbaum would have done, but I don't think Idzik would.

as a Titans fan I"m happy to see him go. way too inconsistent. He would run up the middle for -3 yards 5 times in a row killing at least 2 drives. Then break off a 20 yarder for a solid average of 4 yards. I can understand not always getting long runs but at least don't lose yardage

Vick and CJ together. This is going to be so awesome 3 years ago.

Can't wait until they go up against the Raiders' defensive nucleus of Justin Tuck, LaMarr Woodley, Antonio Smith and Charles Woodson.

He said the main reason he went to the Jets was because "they know how to win". That's some serious fail.

Well, they have observed a lot of teams winning, up close and personal, so they've probably learned a lot from that experience.

In fairness he's been in the AFC South so basically the Jets do seem like a pillar of success.

The problem is, in those seasons they had a MAGNIFICENT oline. 4 of 5 starters were legit first rounders and GOOD.

Now...not so much.

As a bills fan I'm glad someone else in the division is hoping a running back towards the end of his career will be worth a damn.

RIP Fred Jackson's ACL.

I'm feeling very good about my prediction that the Jets win 4 games this year.

This has been the Fark consensus for every year I can remember. Maybe someday it will come true. I'm taking the over.
