Enough already.

I must have missed the onslaught of 8-bit rehashes of the Fifth Element, because I thought that was pretty good.

Ooooh, we haven't had a Milla Jovovich thread in a while.  This could be fun.

Yeah, that was pretty fun... Not sure about Grumpy Gus up there, but I liked it.

Not bad for something thrown together by a couple of stoned Spacecraft refueling technicians....

from the article: " ... has been described over the years as the best and worst summer blockbuster ever."

What idiot described The 5th Element as the "worse summer blockbuster ever". Whoever that idiot is, I bet he's damn near homeless now.

The 5th Element is a masterpiece.

Looked pretty 16-bit to me...  I don't remember that level or detail on sprites on the NES, but I couldn't be wrong.

Almost.

Brush Willis (Korben Dallas) should have been the 5th element at the end... and he should have died after he tells Leeloo he loves her and now she knows love. (remember earlier in the film she says that she didn't know love and that she was built to protect.)

Then it would have been a masterpiece.

I was gonna say the same thing. That was definitely 16 bit.

Doesn't mean it wasn't awesome, but it was more than 8 bit could do.

/that was awesome. The Leeloo hand combat level looks like it would be so much fun to play

No way. Korben Dallas (Brush Willis) got some of that sweet Leeloo twizeye, and President Deebo got to peek in on it. Perfect. Your ending reminds me of Fried Green Tomatoes and lemon-scented tampon commercials.

I have a Fifth Element superbit DVD which I used to calibrate 1080i displays in the pre-BluRay era.  I've used the scene where Leeloo jumps off the ledge into the taxi as a reference a thousand times for comparing video settings.

Great soundtrack, too.

/favourite pre-BluRay audio calibration is Return of the King DVD Extended Edition Chapter 19.
