JoieD'Zen: 8 weeks does seem bit young for spy and neuter

Not really. It's not uncommon for kittens to be spayed at 8 weeks/2 months, as long as they weigh at least 2 lbs. They also tend to recover faster from the surgery than older cats.

Oh. Kittens!

I was expecting this to be a follow-up from that Utah woman the other day...

My older cat needs some new spunky young friends to annoy her. Wonder if could get the Cox people to FedEx them to me.

Note to self:

Don't ship yourself to Houston.  You might get spayed and neutered.
Worse:  You'll be in Houston.

And as bottle-raised kittens, they're going to be sweeties, too. Maybe a bit oddly socialized. But aside from that...

Yeah. They just might be a little different, not having a mother cat to teach them how to be cats. Doesn't mean they'll be bad pets. :p

Wife and I have had a number of cats. My favorite, the love of my life, was abandoned by her mother way early. She was maybe a month old when we found her.. She had no idea how to cat. We raised her like a dog. She was 31 flavors of awesome.

/we did have to socialize her with other cats so she could learn how to take a farking bath
//she was a smelly baby

So they ordered CAT5 ( or CAT6) and received CAT2. Dang shipping errors. Wee lil' terrors look adorable and seem like they are in pretty good hands.

Was right on lowering the number to 18+ though I admit. Can't say I remember ever owning an 18'er though. Polydactyls all the way down... and up again. Thumb cats.

I tend toward Burmese and Manx, oddly though, never did end up with a thumb cat.  Although, I'm pretty if my Burmese had thumbs, he'd kill me in my sleep.

This. I'm glad they're ok, but for heaven's sake, adopt them out with a certificate for free spay/neuter when they're older. At least 4-6 months old.

I had a momma kitty disappear 10 days after giving birth. I raised 5 kittens by hand. One failed to thrive, one died within a month and of the three that made it to adulthood,  one disappeared, one was hit by a car and one is 5 years old.

Yup... my wife and I have a friend who has a cat with... unusual feet. I think he currently has 7 toes on each paw, but the number was actually surgically reduced. However, he can do amazing things with them. Once, I was helping my friend move her couch, and we had it sitting on the floor tipped up on its back. The cat, Sid, had jumped up onto it and was sitting like a Sphinx, observing. We went to tip the couch back down, and my friend just kind of looked at Sid, tried to make him move, then we just started tipping the couch back down. Instead of jumping off like a normal cat, he used his multiple toes, in these weird micro- movements, to rotate himself over the corner formed by the front of the couch and the cushion bed, perfectly in sync with our movement in tipping it back down, so that he was still perfectly upright when we set it down. Then went back to sleep. We couldn't stop laughing for like 10 minutes. Only a polydactyl could do that.
