I'd rather have a Tootsie sequel.

It would be a shame if some tragedy forced production to shut down. Perhaps a drive-by fruiting.

Did anyone else have to suffer through "It was a drive-by fruiting!" before every AMC movie for years there in the 90s? I have never seen Mrs. Doubtfire, but that scene is burned into my skull.

2014-04-17 01:05:05 AM
Well the project seems much more viable now that Robin Williams and Sally Field will work on the cheap.

2014-04-17 01:22:36 AM
I still haven't seen much of the original.

I see Mr. Williams also has 'The Angriest Man in Brooklyn' coming out soon. With Mila Kunis as the doctor who wrongly tells him he's got 90 minutes to live.

The lady on the Australian $50 looks a lot like Mrs Doubtfire.

It'll take a lot less make-up to make Williams look like an old lady these days.

He's totally lost touch with reality.  What a concept.

That movie grossed $450M?!?!?

I vote no. However, I wouldn't mind watching Mr. Williams portray someone who's not essentially "him." You know, act.

I loved Mrs. Doubtfire as a kid. To this day my favorite scene is when he blatantly breaks off the hood ornament on that guy's car and hands it back to him. Something about that just makes me burst out laughing every time.

YES

I knew he'd be back, I just thought he was comin as oil

So not so badly burned into your skull.

Sally Field was just nominated for an Oscar for Lincoln. I'd say her career is on the upswing.

Luckily, movie attendance is not mandatory. I have liked some of Mr. Williams' work, but Doubtfire was not his finest hour.

This.  If people want to pay to see it sure, good for them.  I will not be one of those people.

// I don't doubt it can make its budget back, it should be a cheap enough movie to make and there were like 13 "Land Before Time" movies before they stopped making them, so Disney finds people to watch random crap all the time.

No article on Bryan Singer's insatiable appetite for teenage boys? But I guess that's not exactly news.

Hmm, looking at her IMDB you would think she would want any work she can get.  I don't think Matilda 2 is coming along anytime soon.

Check out her blog, Mara Wilson Writes Stuff. She seems like a cool down-to-earth chick, and she's grown up rather nicely. She's my current favorite Jewess.

She purposefully got herself out of the movie business, and mostly lives her life as a regular person now.  She did this article for Cracked (I know, I know, but it is an interesting read) a while back on why child stars tend to be so farked up.

Yeah, she didn't really do much after her two "big" roles (Mrs D. and Matilda).... and although she has a few recent IMDB line items, I don't believe she's looking to get back into acting at all, at least from all I've seen.

"If I were to talk to Lindsay Lohan, I'd encourage her to get the hell out of acting and into something soothing. Take up botany or something.   But she wouldn't be likely to listen to me -- and not only because I'm younger and way less hot than her."

Maybe at one point Mara, but, I think most of us would put you ahead of Lohan, now especially.
